I had the immense pleasure of experiencing the Locanda on Friday, January 23, 2026, for dinner after its post-holiday reopening. It was the first day of the winter menu. The location is very charming and elegant, in the heart of Rivalta Castle. Inside, the spaces are warm and designed in a style that impeccably combines refinement, rusticity, and elegance. The staff is highly trained, kind, and helpful from the moment you arrive. The explanations of the dishes are excellent and thorough. The quality of the dishes is excellent. The cuisine offered is traditional Piacenza or chic/experimental. The latter deserves full marks. The quality of the ingredients is excellent, the preparation sublime, and the plating very Instagrammable. I really appreciate the fact that the origin of the main ingredients for some dishes is listed on the menu. The wine list is extensive and caters to all tastes. The variety of wines from the French region was greatly appreciated. The price is perhaps a bit high compared to the market, but it reflects the quality of the food, the preparation, the hospitality of the staff, and the picturesque location. A final chat with the chefs and a tour of the cellar with the cellar master are highly appreciated!

This was my first experience at this restaurant, and I'll definitely be returning as soon as possible. Excellent cuisine, rooted in tradition, offers reinterpretations and original twists that are never overdone, always maintaining a perfect balance of flavors and taste. The atmosphere is understated yet elegant, with attention to detail. A truly satisfying experience.

We had a truly wonderful time! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff is polite and professional but not cold, the dishes are unique and all very good, the panettone they made was superb, the best I've ever had. I returned to try the dishes from their new chef, Manuel Castillo, and in my opinion, the quality is higher than before, as is the originality of the dishes. The wine selection is also excellent, with many unusual champagnes at affordable prices. I hope to return soon!
