Antica Locanda 1899 In Vernole

Welcoming place, excellent cuisine, summer place outside with a beautiful garden, if I have to be picky what I didn't like were the mushrooms on the pizza, not very tasty and watery, they ruin the taste of the pizza, I hope they are replaced with another quality good brand, the house fried food is very good, the staff is well prepared especially the lady (owner) always active in making her customers feel at ease, a place to keep in mind for future outings and maybe change the menu with grilled or fried seafood that I saw seem really tasty and abundant dishes to try.

All good except the very loud music for a contemporary private event

We dined at Antica Locanda 1899 in Vernole two consecutive nights, and that alone speaks volumes about the restaurant's quality! The food is truly excellent, with top-quality ingredients and carefully prepared dishes. We particularly enjoyed the seafood specialties, which were incredibly fresh and flavorful, as well as the traditional Salento dishes, rich in flavor and authenticity. The pizza is also not to be missed; it's truly delicious, well-cooked, and made with quality ingredients. Special praise goes to the staff: extremely kind, attentive, and always available, making guests feel at home. The finale was worthy of the rest of the dinner, with exquisite desserts, including the famous spumoni from Pasticceria Alabama, a must-try. The atmosphere is one of the restaurant's strong points: the outdoor veranda is welcoming, cool, and very pleasant, perfect for spending a relaxing summer evening. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return next time. We'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy excellent Salento cuisine and spend a wonderful evening in Vernole. 👏🍕🐟🍨🌿

I went to your place for a family lunch. I'm giving you 5 stars because I can't give you more. We had a great time; the food was good and the staff was friendly, to say the least. It was our first time, and it was recommended, but I'll definitely be back. The prices are fair.

Excellent pizza, super digestible dough, soft crust, well-cooked but not burnt. You can tell the flour used is high-quality, and the leavening is excellent.
