And it's always one of the best gastronomic experiences we have in Palermo. The Pani ca meusa is excellent, in all its variations. Excellent!

A local recommended this restaurant to us and we went. We liked the atmosphere in the square but it was so crowded that the waiters didn't have time to make you feel comfortable. They talked to each other while ordering and didn't pay much attention. We felt a little like we were intruding. The food was quite good. My dish was delicious, my husband's came cold although it tasted good. The sandwich we shared was good. At the end, when we had already paid inside the shop because they saw us leaving, the waiters shouted at us in front of everyone if we paid, as if we were stealing from them, or if we looked like people who would steal. At least insulting, but they may have had a lot of trouble. It was just inelegant and we were annoyed. Despite all this, everything came super fast and it is a well-organized restaurant, but in which you feel more like a tourist than a tourist.

Contrary to previous reviews, I recommend this atmospheric place. If you enjoy discovering new flavors and aren't afraid of a challenge, this place is for you. I recommend the original flavor of Focaccia formaggio (spleen).

This is a typical Palermo restaurant known for its meusa (spleen) sandwich. It also offers other street food, such as arancini, sfincioni, and more. There are plenty of tables in a charming square, especially for the restaurant. We had the fried sardines, which were delicious and a large portion. The sandwich was excellent, and deserves its reputation. The busiate (pasta) with sardines and fennel didn't really convince me, however...the dish was always very generous. Their wine by the glass, Nero d'Avola, was good and a generous glass. Fairly priced.
