Angelina a Testaccio In Roma

A place that is a gem. Starting from the top furniture with a unique style, passing through a special and warm welcome and ending, of course, with excellent food! Advised!

Angelina is now a famous restaurant in the Testaccio district. And also an excellent space to enjoy appetizing aperitifs! In fact, there are many tastings that are served together with a glass of wine or beer! We start with lupins and olives; at a time then of grown pasta balls, meatballs with sauce, parmigiana, panzanella and excellent fried anchovies! The environment is very welcoming and the staff are friendly and helpful.

We go back every time we come to Rome! Well-kept, welcoming environment. Attentive and professional staff. Cuisine with excellent quality raw materials and simply tasty and well-processed cooking. I recommend the stracciata in broth and the first course with wild boar ragù. But I also tasted the Angelina starter and it was all very good. Carbonara, cacio e pepe, chicken... in short, whatever you want to eat, you can't go wrong! We were also recommended an excellent wine by the waiter who was very kind. And to finish a delicious cup of mascarpone cream with dry biscuits! Highly recommended place.

When I'm in Rome I always go to Angelina in Testaccio, the food is good and carefully prepared, the service is excellent and the environment is warm and welcoming. The food/cost ratio is good, average. Highly recommended.

The location in the heart of Testaccio is beautiful. Attention to detail, in shabby style, the terrace above is very elegant. You sit down and the tables are set with intelligence and elegance. The barman arrives immediately to propose the new products. I tasted the white basilisk, a fresh touch of summer. Then a very significant 5-course starter: parmigiana, meatballs, fried anchovies, ricotta and zeppoline with cheese and pepper cream. A nice entrée. Then the large, enormous plates, as if they wanted to concentrate attention only on the plate and look at it at the bottom of the plate. Superlative carbonara, not very salty and intense, very good cacio e pepe, delicious amatriciana. One of the top restaurants in Rome.

Having lived abroad for many years, we always try to test some typical and interesting restaurants after bringing our foreign guests. Angelina, being a very nice place and outside the most touristy areas, is certainly a very interesting destination that we would have liked a lot for the location, the mise en place and the kindness of the staff. Too bad for some doubts about the dishes and an avoidable lapse in style on the part of the manager. The appetizers were the best part of the dinner in our opinion; excellent, interesting, even if a little expensive in terms of quantity/price ratio. For the first courses, in order to recommend true Roman cuisine, we opted for the most traditional trio possible: cacio e pepe, carbonara and amatriciana. Abundant portions, fun and original "salad bowl" instead of the soup plate, honest cost. It's a shame that the cooking was decidedly too al dente even for us Romans and an excess of flavor that was well beyond the definition of "tasty" ruined an excellent first course. The desserts were unmemorable and in any case small and very expensive, with a passion fruit cheesecake with a biscuit base that was really too hard. Some doubts also about the drinks with a simple medium beer on tap without any indication that it becomes difficult to pay €7.50 and the cover charge, nice in presentation, but with a little dipped bread for three people and only the napkin actually to be changed (no tablecloth but a sheet metal underplate). However, the problem arose with the amatriciana in which there was a long hair at the bottom. It can happen, no drama, and the staff immediately went out of their way asking if we wanted another first course, but by then the dish was almost finished so it was fine. However, we expected that first course to be deducted from the bill and instead only €5 was deducted out of the €13, which actually remained on the plate. An avoidable but emblematic fall in style for a nice and trendy place that doesn't seem to have any particular problems with popularity. Sin...

Excellent Roman restaurant in Testaccio. The first courses are served in ceramic basins, I ordered fresh tonnarelli cacio e pepe, the appetizers, typically Roman, were sublime, excellent, as were the second courses and desserts. Environment set up with furnishings that seem to come from the attic. Attentive service. I recommend it if you love Roman cuisine

Dopo essermi trasferita a Bologna, ritornare a Roma è sempre una emozione grande! Il calore della città e i suoi quartieri, le sue strade, soprattutto in agosto mi riempiono di gioia… come non ritornare da Angelina a testaccio? Il mio ristorante preferito… mangio sempre una carbonara Top e vogliamo parlare poi, dell abbacchio cotto ai Carboni? Siete sempre una garanzia per me.

Super consigliato, Sono andata a cena con degli amici e devo dire ogni volta mi riconferma la sua bontà e bellezza!! Cibo veramente ottimo e qualità prezzo molto giusto. Dagli antipasti al dolce tutto impeccabile, anche il personale professionale e super attento ad ogni dettaglio. Da provare assolutamente!!
