25/01/2026: At the Mercato del Capo in Palermo, there's this wonderful street food restaurant where you can find many local delicacies, such as a spleen sandwich, arancini, cardoons, fried artichokes and broccoli, panelle, sardines "alla beccafico," and traditional baked pasta with pasta rings and a sensational ragù. Not to mention the fish and grilled meat main courses, both excellent! I spent a weekend in Palermo and had lunch both days at Dainotti's inside the market, among the stalls and the colors of fruit and vegetables. The people who work there are incredibly courteous, almost as if they were inviting you into their home to eat their traditional dishes, the simplicity and genuine hospitality.
