I celebrated my birthday here with a large group of friends, and I really want to say a special thank you to Susanna. She was incredibly kind, patient, and always smiling, even during the most chaotic moments. It's not easy managing so many people at once, but she did it with a kindness and professionalism that truly impressed us. Thank you for making us feel welcome and for making the evening even more enjoyable. People like that really make a difference!

Altotasso is the kind of place you go for a drink and end up staying all night. A super chill atmosphere, top wines (a carefully selected and never boring selection), and excellent charcuterie boards. But its real strength is the energy: the right people, consistently lively evenings, music, and events that make the place special. It's not just a wine bar, it's a vibe. If you're in Bologna, it's a must-see.

Absolutely in love with this bar. One of my favorite places in Bologna; I was there for two weeks. Service, atmosphere, drinks, incredible. Kate, Paulo, Pino — miss you xo

I'm dying to return to the city center. I can confirm that it's one of the best bars in downtown Bologna, a good place to socialize, and a place that's more bar-centric than table-centric. In my humble opinion, the drinks are good.

01/03/2026: We visited only for aperitivo; they have a good selection of spirits, something some might overlook but is actually very important. We had six different cocktails, three each, and all were well-executed. Just the right amount of ice (which blocks the drink and keeps it cold), very balanced (the recipes are therefore adhered to), and not overdiluted. The appetizers aren't limited to chips and peanuts, but a nice platter with a little bit of everything, all of good quality. The total cost was absolutely in line with what we were served.

Trattoria Da Carlet

06/04/2026: Wandering on Easter Monday between Monzuno and Loiano, we found ourselves in Monghidoro... lunchtime now... what to do... we ended up at the Trattoria da Carlet, certainly without a reservation. It was immediately a no even though there were only 2 of us. Then they asked us if it was okay to wait until 1:15 pm (it was 12:40). A table for 2 would be available, so we accepted... we had a great time, excellent food and plenty of it, courtesy and kindness of all the staff. We didn't manage to try the desserts because they were too full... What can I say? Thanks, and we hope to return soon, perhaps by booking in advance!
04/04/2026: "Penny wise and pound foolish"—so focused on controlling every tiny detail that they completely miss the fact that they're ruining the very thing they're trying to manage. When an owner is that micromanaging, they usually create a "killer vibe" that no amount of nice decor can fix. It's a shame for those young waiters, too; they're likely doing their best while under a microscope. It's the classic case of an owner who's lost in a glass of water: so focused on controlling every tiny detail that they don't realize they're ruining the very business they're trying to manage. When an owner is that control freak, they create a heavy atmosphere that no decor, no matter how beautiful, can lift. It's also a real shame for those young waiters; they're probably doing their best while constantly feeling under the microscope. Tasteless food Tough meat Sweet, good luck to the girl who recommended us.
