AMAZING restaurant!! I went there for the first time about two weeks ago, after hearing so much about it. You have to book several months in advance, but it's worth the wait! I ate two appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, side dish, two desserts, coffee and limoncello. Total cost: €40!! Truffles and mushrooms galore, food quality simply superb and a very honest price! MUST TRY IT!

That's how they say it. Or at least that's what all (good) food lovers say. At Ca'Cerfogli the dishes are divine. Nice, clean and welcoming environment. The staff 10 and praise. Tortelloni and tagliolini are touching because of how good they are. The meat has the same consistency as butter. You can't easily find mushrooms made this well. Tasty, but not too much, right consistency, scent of the forest. I can't help but be at Ca'Cerfogli once a month.

This is the review for the restaurant, not the hotel. We had very high expectations for this restaurant, so much so that we drove about 1h20 on the way there and the same on the way back. A restaurant that in the lower Modena area is legendary and described as one of the best in our mountains. It is said that when you ask for availability, the first ones are 3 months ahead like a visit to the USL.
We were lucky, and on Saturday afternoon we managed to find a table for Saturday evening.
Journey of hope on hairpin bends and well-constructed mountain roads. We could take a slightly less tortuous road but extend it by another 10 minutes, so we opt for the winding road.
Well, this premise serves to say that after 1h20 by car, they put us in the room on the 3rd floor, where the waiter alone has to manage the room with the kitchen on the ground floor, the wines are on the ground floor, and the service unfortunately does not it lived up to expectations. We ate some excellent mushroom crostini, and a parmesan flan, after 20 minutes, the time to eat these crostini was about 2 minutes, maybe 3... then we waited 55 minutes to eat an excellent plate of tortelloni with mushrooms, which within of another 2 minutes they disappeared... a dessert also arrived after a long wait... the passito wine I had to eat with the dessert was arriving when I had finished the dessert 20 minutes ago, I sent it back backwards. Basically we arrived at 8.20pm, left at 11.00pm having eaten for a total of 7-8 minutes... and that's actually a bit too much.
The location is welcoming, but perhaps lacks a bit of privacy. It seems they wanted to exploit the space a little too much to get covers.
However the food is really good, the flan is amazing, the croutons are perfect, the mushrooms delicious but also the bread is super crumbly, really delicious. The tortelloni are probably the best I have ever eaten, there are rumors that the filling contains mascarpone, some say it is special ricotta, I don't know but they are unquestionably good. If I ever go back, I'll get 2 servings myself. For dessert I had a trifle, this didn't shock me, it didn't particularly impress me. As I said, I wanted a passito but it didn't arrive in time, unfortunately (or fortunately, so I made the hour and twenty minutes back super sober).
My wife had a glass of cabernet by the glass; very fragrant, I only tasted it since I was driving but I wasn't particularly impressed.
Super fair prices, in my opinion, especially when measured against the quality of the food.
In conclusion: go there, the food is really, really good, but I recommend going in large groups, so that the wait is perhaps mitigated by the revelry, or perhaps go there not on the weekend, perhaps next time we will do so.

We didn't stay there, but only had dinner, and it was an excellent choice. Super quality food, spectacular appetizers, as well as location and staff.
If we end up in the area again, we will return.
