Albergo Ristorante Baldazzi 1916 In Zavattarello

While visiting the splendid and highly recommended Zavattarello Fortress, we stopped for a coffee here. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the building was very well presented, and the restrooms were a perfect match, as we found them to be spotless, just like the rest of the building. Well done, I would definitely return.

I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of this restaurant's cuisine! The dishes were beautifully presented and, above all, tasty and balanced. The perfectly cooked mezzepccheri with squid sauce and the banana dessert really won me over. The wait staff was very kind and knowledgeable. The various courses were explained to us in detail, which should be expected in a respectable establishment, but isn't always the case. The Miele restaurant's fair price makes it, in my opinion, one of the best value restaurants in the area!

Excellent lunch! Very carefully prepared dishes, where the ingredients and the composition of the dishes combine in an explosion of flavors and colors. The atmosphere is very clean and refined. Compliments to the chef and the staff who served us. An experience to definitely repeat.

The restaurant terrace offers a splendid view of the Oltrepò hills. The burgers are absolutely spectacular. Excellent menus and exceptional value. Recommended for a day trip or a short stay.

A day in the Oltrepo Pavese castle-hunting region brings us, at the right time, to this restaurant in Zavattarello, recommended to us by people from Varzi. The terrace offers spectacular views of the Pavia hills. The service is a bit slow but friendly. The menu doesn't offer many dishes, but those we sampled are of excellent quality, including the cooking. We tried an appetizer of local cheeses and cured meats, seared tuna with vegetables and a bed of very delicate Russian salad, and finally an Argentinean sliced ​​steak with mashed potatoes. Bread was served generously. It must be said, however, with regret, given the quality of the food and the bucolic setting, that the menu lacks the good old "house wine" (in a wine-producing region like Oltrepo!). A glass is available upon request for those who don't want a bottle. In my opinion, it would be a good thing to restore, where possible, the authentic atmosphere of old-fashioned trattorias rather than resort to urban tourist clichés (from the menu to the appearance). Instead, I felt like I was in a Milanese restaurant. With a cover charge of €3 per person.

I stopped by for the Zavattarello medieval festival and discovered this place. I had a great time, the quality was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I think I'll be back soon.

The price of €80 for a standard room with breakfast is reasonable (cleaning and a welcome kit with water and biscuits from the local biscuit factory are included). The wine list is excellent and reasonably priced. A good selection of champagnes is also available.
