We had the best food in Venice here. Excellent meats, properly cooked, the prices are very reasonable for what they provide. It's worth trying!

Great place for drinks and 'cicchetti', with a huge variety of these ones. Also good dishes for the hungry ones.
Nice wine selection, and if you are lucky you can even sit on the boat in front of the place.
Very good atmosphere in general, a bit more local and less touristic place than other areas in Venice.

The food is very good. The price makes you feel like they are playing with you. The price is based on the weight and you have no idea if the weight they give you is what you actually ate. It ended up being much more expensive than we expected. But you can't complain because you can't argue that they gave you one weight or another.

Al Timon is truly a unique place in Venice, especially if you love good meat. Their specialty: huge grilled pieces served on planks, already carved, with several options depending on your taste. Ours was excellent, but a big regret: despite specifying that I wanted it medium rare, it arrived quite medium. For meat of this quality, it's a shame to miss out on perfect cooking.
Also, expect a bit of a wait; we waited about 30 minutes before being served. The setting more than makes up for it: on the banks of a canal, in the popular Cannaregio district, far from the tourist traps. You'll mostly encounter locals, and the atmosphere is lively and relaxed. Bonus: you can enjoy an aperitif on a boat right across the street, which adds a touch of charm to the place.
The meat is served with real, crispy, homemade fried potatoes, as well as beautifully crispy vegetables. The prices are a little high, but ultimately no more than the Venetian average, and at least everything here is fresh. Be aware that meat is priced by weight (per 100g). For example, for two, we ordered a 1.2kg piece, which came to around €70.
A little tip: come early in the evening. We had dinner around 10pm on the terrace and it was completely dark. There's no outside light, so you're literally eating in the dark... and when you like to admire your meat, that can be a bit frustrating.
In summary: a great place for meat lovers, with an authentic atmosphere and a corner of Venice protected from the crowds. Just book early and insist on proper cooking!

Mi familia de cuatro miembros, incluidos dos niños, cenaron en una noche ajetreada a fines de marzo. Cuando hicimos el pedido, el servidor (que probablemente era el propietario) , insistió en que pidamos dos tablas de filete para que hubiera suficiente para todos nosotros. Insistimos en que nuestros niños pequeños no comen mucho y también tuvimos otros platos, así que una tabla más lados sería suficiente, él no cedió, así que acordamos las dos tablas de bistec. El plato que nos trajeron era tan enorme que podría haber alimentado fácilmente a 6 - 8 adultos. Apenas podíamos hacer mella en ella. Al final nuestra cena de 200 euros fue una decepción porque sentimos que se aprovechó de nosotros como turistas. La comida en sí estaba bien, pero nada merece el bombo en línea.
