A place with a homey atmosphere. We had dinner here and felt right at home. The owners were friendly and the food was excellent. We tried the gnocchi ossolani, which I recommend, and a tagliata with gorgonzola, finishing with a delicious pear and chocolate cake. A pleasant and relaxing evening.

Entering Al Rustico is like sitting down to eat with a rehabilitated bear: the owner greets you with a growl, a "don't ask me any questions" look, and the look of someone who might have been referred to a couple of therapists. Then the food arrives, and it's surprisingly good. Sincere dishes, full flavors, a cuisine that speaks volumes. And as you eat, something changes: between appetizers and first courses, the gruff man melts away; between main courses and dessert, a smile even appears. By the end of the evening, it's no longer the potential psychopath who invited you to sit down, but an almost affectionate host, as if the therapy had worked right there, in front of you. A restaurant where you eat well and witness, for free, the owner's redemption. Recommended for those who love good food and stories with an unexpected happy ending.

A name couldn't have been more fitting, we love places like this 😁. A homely atmosphere, seating for about 30. Let's start with the bill: first course, second course (ample), dessert, water, wine, coffee, and Ginépy, €50... excellent, I'd say. As for the dishes, I'll leave the comments to you. The pasta is homemade, you can tell because the tagliatelle are not the same thickness... The stews are finger-licking good; we actually mopped up everything with our sauce. The lady in the dining room noticed and appreciated it. The shame is it's not around the corner, but we'll find a way to come back and visit you again 🙂🙂🙂

Welcoming place, impeccable service. Everything was delicious... But I don't think I've ever eaten such a delicious risotto!! If we return to Stresa, we'll definitely be back to try the other delicacies on the menu.

Excellent restaurant serving typical local cuisine. The risottos are excellent. I recommend the cheese fondue on a hot stone, served with potatoes. The desserts are all delicious. Highly recommended.
