very characteristic restaurant immersed in the woods. very fresh in summer. excellent food and friendly staff at honest prices. advised !

Very welcoming place, we had lunch with two first courses and a second course. Everything was delicious, especially the handmade pasta: highly recommended first courses! Prices were slightly high for the portions, but justified by the quality of the products. The waiters were very kind, but the service was slightly slow. All in all a great experience, recommended!

Al termine di un'escursione in MTB con amici ci siamo fermati a pranzo in questa sorta di rifugio, caldo e accogliente, immerso nella natura a pochi passi dall'ex Hotel Taburno. Personale educato e gentile, locale carino con tanti cimeli tra cui una volpe imbalsamata. Abbiamo assaggiato l'antipasto della casa, sfizioso ed abbondante, la pasta e patate con provola, davvero buona, e poi gli arrosticini con qualche contorno. Prezzi nella norma. La struttura inoltre dispone anche di bungalow immersi nella natura, da provare. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente.

A nice agriturismo in the mountains, fresh air, a refuge from the summer heat. Tasty food, fast service, friendly staff. There are rooms to stay overnight but we didn't sleep. They look like domes on the outside, very nice.

When I have to choose the structure where I want to spend a few relaxing days, it has been my habit, for years now, to consult online reviews. I literally do a “CT scan with contrast” before making up my mind and when I find many positive reviews, after reading some, I take a look at the negative ones, to see if any complaints could be a discriminating factor for my choice. Nonetheless, I have never reviewed any structure before and not because of laziness or unmet expectations, on the contrary. Most of the time I found what I expected, but I have always believed that my first review should be reserved for a truly special experience. I love the mountains and last spring I started looking for a structure that was not too far from my city. I discovered this refuge by chance and obviously I dove into reading the reviews. I thought: “One of these days I will show up there without a reservation and ask if I can eat. And if the location, the managers and the food convince me, I will also ask if they have availability for August”. It was midday on a Sunday at the end of last June when I got into the car to do what I had been thinking about for a few months: in an hour I was at the refuge. I was welcomed by Giovanni, a gentle man, with polite and affable manners. I explained to him what my intentions were; with a reassuring air he said to me: “There should be availability for August, but you can talk about this later with my wife who takes care of the B&B. For now, sit down and choose what to eat”. I won’t stay here to list the delicacies I tasted that Sunday. After lunch I met Luciana, Giovanni’s wife: a generous woman, passionate about good old-fashioned cooking... and coffee! I explained to her that I needed a quote for a few nights after Ferragosto, half board. Luciana immediately confirmed availability and invited me to make the request via WhatsApp. I also visited one of the 5 igloo-shaped bungalows: I was struck by the essential, fresh, ventilated spaces. Suddenly I felt myself being taken by the hand by a tender little angel with thick blond hair: Antonio Pio, the son of the managers, just 3 years old. “Come, I’ll introduce you to my friends!” - he said, pulling me towards him. And he led me to a donkey and two goats. That Sunday I also met Giuliano, Luciana’s firstborn: a boy with a clean face, well-mannered, passionate about cooking like his mother. Before going home, I stopped to chat with the managers: a few words were enough to “recognize” us and switch from “lei” to “tu”. They explained their corporate philosophy to me, their efforts to maintain their identity and to ensure excellent service. “The customer who comes here selects himself” - Luciana told me. When I returned home I waited a few hours before asking for a quote for August; I have a rather sensitive stomach and although what I had eaten for lunch was very tasty, I wanted to be sure that I wouldn’t have any digestive problems. After my heart, my stomach also gave me the go-ahead to book. I had confirmation of the booking before even making the deposit transfer: after 7 days I had to remind Luciana that I was waiting to know the amount to pay. In August I found the warmth and familiarity that I had “tasted” a few months earlier: I am very reserved and I struggle to talk about myself. With Giovanni and Luciana - unexpected travel companions met by chance along my personal journey - it was natural and spontaneous to confide in me. They pampered me, I felt at home. “There is a party in town tonight. If you like, you can come with us”. I don’t know how many of you have had the privilege of receiving an invitation like that. My stay at the refuge is about to end: I already miss everything I have experienced here in these days. Mine is probably not a review in the strict sense, I don’t know how many of you will find it useful. Consider it a page from my personal diary...

Un bel posto,tutto quello consumato e' a km zero e di qualita', personale disponibile, proprietari simpatici e sempre presenti.

Ho avuto il piacere di pranzare presso il Rifugio della Volpe e devo dire che l'esperienza è stata assolutamente straordinaria. Fin dal momento del nostro arrivo, siamo stati accolti con calore e un'ospitalità davvero speciale. L'agriturismo è in una posizione incantevole, immerso nel verde e circondato da una natura incontaminata. I piatti sono preparati con ingredienti freschi e di stagione, ogni piatto è un vero viaggio nei sapori locali. Ad agosto non è stata la prima volta che abbiamo pranzato al rifugio e non sarà di sicuro l'ultima, torneremo presto!!! Che aggiungere.. Luciana e la sua famiglia sono semplicemente meravigliosi!

Beautiful mid-August holiday spent with the family at this farmhouse expertly managed by Giovanni and his family. As always, an excellent lunch with excellent service, despite the large number of customers. Kindness and professionalism continue to be the driving force of this refuge. Highly recommended.
