Nice place, average food like in other good places but service too slow you can't wait more than an hour to eat a pizza especially when the place is empty

We were six at Rifugio Steakhouse and overall had a lovely, pleasant, and relaxed evening. We started with five appetizers: two classic tartares, a trio of tartares, a delicate carpaccio, and montanarine with tartare on top. All dishes were well-executed and in line with the restaurant's offerings, perhaps without any particular surprises, but pleasant. We also enjoyed the homemade focaccia/pizza bianca, brought to the table. For main courses, we shared two substantial cuts: – a 1.45 kg Irish Florentine steak, for €123 – a 1.48 kg Galician rubia steak, for €120 The Galician rubia steak was undoubtedly the highlight of the dinner: very good meat, well-cooked, and satisfying. We accompanied everything with three classic side dishes (sautéed herbs, baked potatoes, and French fries). A pleasant note from the evening: at one point, Rocco, with great adaptability, "recovered" some chips left on a newly vacated table... and none of the staff noticed 😄 A sign of a very informal and relaxed atmosphere, which contributed to the convivial tone of the dinner. As for wine, we ordered three bottles for a total of €89: two bottles of Survia for €32 each and one of San Giò. All were very good, truly well-chosen, and paired with the meat. The service was always friendly and courteous, although at times a bit slow and time management could be improved: some appetizers didn't arrive together, and water was requested multiple times. Nothing serious, just small details that, with a little more attention, would make the experience even smoother. At the end of the meal, the house liqueur was very welcome. The final bill was €440 for six people, in line with what we ordered and the nature of the evening. The atmosphere is simple and informal, perfect for a dinner with friends. Overall, we had a good time: a pleasant place to stop if you're in the area, with a solid menu and room for further improvement in service.

The pizzas are good quality, with tasty ingredients and a well-made dough. It's a shame, however, that they arrived cold, which detracted from the overall experience. With more careful delivery, they would have been truly excellent. The sandwiches were good, but unfortunately, significantly smaller than expected, especially considering the price.

Beautiful restaurant, easily accessible from the highway. Courteous and professional staff. Excellent food, you'll go home satisfied. We recommend their homemade meat and the Cuore Caldo dessert. We'll be back.

The meat is good, it's a shame there's no first course in the evening... The service is a bit lacking, it could have been a little more attentive. The dining room is a bit cold... but all in all, I recommend it to anyone who wants to try good meat.

Ristorante Pizzeria Medmea

29/01/2026: We stumbled upon this pizza restaurant by chance and decided to stop and try it, given the numerous reviews. The place is very large and crowded, but despite everything, they seated us in just a few seconds, so the welcome was excellent. Let's just say it's a meeting place for truck drivers, primarily, or people on their lunch break. But let's talk about what we ate. The portions were certainly generous, enough to make many people's mouths water, but often, abundance doesn't mean goodness. In fact, I have to give the first courses a five because (and I'm talking about what we tried) they were flavorless and not of sufficient quality to be memorable. I give the second courses a 7; yes, I'm going out on a limb here because I was very satisfied. For better or worse, you still leave feeling quite full. Quick service, a 7 Cleanliness: a 6 Bathrooms: wheelchair accessible, acceptable cleanliness. Ample parking. The place is wheelchair accessible. Bill: low prices Would I recommend going? If you don't want to spend a lot and can handle the TRUCK-SIZED menu and portions, then please feel free to come.

07/03/2026: The best pizzeria (and more) in Reggio!
22/02/2026: I consider this place a sure thing: it opens early and closes late, so it's always a reliable option at any time, especially considering I frequent outside of weekends. The pizza is good, as are the burgers (although the "medium rare" turned out to be "medium well done"). The beer selection needs some tweaking, as when I ordered, I was told there were no stouts or porters, not even in bottles or cans. The service was quick and the atmosphere overall pleasant, except for what I discovered today, after a year and a half in Reggio, an aspect I suggest improving: smoking inside. It would be appropriate to make this more clearly visible, since the areas were presented to me as "pub area" and "pizza area," as the staff had told me. It was unpleasant to find myself eating next to someone who started smoking, justified by the fact that it was a smoking area, but without it being clearly noticeable to those sitting there. Personally, I think maintaining a smoking area is anachronistic, given that the law on smoking in enclosed spaces dates back to 2003. At the very least, it would be helpful to ensure clearer separation between areas and clearer communication, to avoid unpleasant situations during meals.
