Traditional Tuscan restaurant. Good service, average wait. Delicious anduja and buffalo pizza. Good quality beer. Professional staff. I will definitely return

It's my historic restaurant. I've been going there practically for over 30 years. When it was on Via Empolese it was called Trattoria da Osvaldo, and I remember that it was an obligatory destination for truck drivers. With this I'll let you imagine the type of cuisine and the quality/quantity of the portions, basically what perfectly embodies the phrase "typical Tuscan cuisine". The ragù has now become a "must" also for my children who I bring there periodically. Fundamentally simple dishes but like grandmothers made them on Sunday lunch. They also make delicious pizzas for takeaway too. There is no world without Il Portico!

The simplicity that wins as master, the delight of the equally simple Tuscan cuisine, the normal life of the managers that flows among the customers, places like this are increasingly rare!

I was here 5 years ago and they were amazing! Treated you like family by the 2nd visit. The food was amazing and house wine was better than some I had tried on the trip!

Ristorante storico della Valdinievole. Il proprietario, un signore molto anziano, gira tra i tavoli prendendo le comande e servendo le pietanze; ovviamente non è da solo. Il locale è molto ampio, con spazio anche all’aperto. Noi abbiamo preso un gustoso antipasto toscano e varie pizze: tutto molto buono, soprattutto il pane arabo. La cifra pagata è stata nella norma. Sicuramente ci torneremo.

Povero Chic Ristorante

28/05/2024: La trattoria Povero Chic si trova in via Sant’Andrea, in prossimità del centro e non distante da Piazza del Duomo. Io ci sono stato a pranzo, la scelta è tra tre primi piatti, tre secondi e contorni al prezzo di pranzo di lavoro a 12 euro più le bevande. Altrimenti si può optare di scegliere piatti singoli a prezzo diverso (come scritto sulla lavagnetta). In sintesi: economico, senza grosse pretese, modesto pranzo nella media ed altrettanto il servizio mediocre senza difetti, ma nemmeno di particolari qualità. Parcheggio problematico, cercare dove possibile nei pressi, ma non è facile.
25/05/2024: The place is welcoming and the staff too (they immediately brought a bowl of water for the dog too... TOP). The fixed menu with a choice between "sea and land" is certainly a good idea to reduce costs and waste... less inviting for those arriving from outside and would like to choose between local dishes.... but we ate very well... so WELL DONE!!!

24/07/2024: Montecatini Alto fills up pretty quickly for dinner. We had not made a reservation, but decided to explore for ourselves, and found this restaurant eager to seat us, at an outside table, which is exactly what we had wanted! (Most of the other restaurants were not taking walk ins for dinner.) I ordered the Rocket with Ricotta, pine nuts and a Balsamic Sauce for a salad, and Gnocci with blue cheese sauce for my main course. Both were fabulous. Then, I treated myself to a delectable dessert that was some kind of chocolate volcano cake. It was amazing! The staff, inside and out were friendly. There is a restroom inside, that is actually more than one stall if one needs to use the facilities. It was very well maintained. I highly recommend enjoying a meal here. You won't be disappointed!
21/04/2024: Locale tipico molto particolare, personale cordiale. Tutte le pietanze sono state di nostro gradimento, ma la mia ribollita era speciale! Super.
