We had lunch at Al Piròn on 01/05 and we were struck by the kind and familiar welcome of the staff and the owner, we enjoyed two generous first courses and this is also confirmed by the fact that I saw a couple of other couples asking for aluminum trays to take the food home.... All delicious, as if I were eating at my aunt's house, in the courtyard with the privacy of being able to talk without the waiter making you understand that you have to go away to seat another person.... We we will definitely return also because we understood that PIRON = Fork.. 😉

Typical Gorizia restaurant where you can enjoy excellent goulash. The gnocchi with both ragù and goulash and the cod in the Friulian and Vicenza versions are also delicious. Very tasty rosti and only tiredness prevented us from tasting the cewapcici which looked really inviting from the nearby tables. Instead, try strudel, chocolate cake and palacinka which were also really good. Professional and extremely courteous and friendly service from the chef and all the staff. Very honest and fair prices. A place worth visiting without a doubt.

Two very important things….what we ate and drank was very good. The service was average but with the plus of the very "friendly" approach of the owner, some may not like it but given the context it was fine. The environment being small has been optimized to accommodate as many people as possible (this is understandable) therefore at the expense of comfort. What is less understandable is that our clothes were permeated with an unpleasant smell of food which remained on us until we returned home. Equally incomprehensible is the cover price of €3 per person given that it included 1 straw paper placemat, 1 TNT (non-woven fabric) napkin, not of the best quality.

Davvero questo è il ristorante numero 1 a Gorizia? Spero davvero che non sia così. Non abbiamo mangiato male, ma niente di memorabile. Buono il goulash, meno buone le guancette: non mi è piaciuto particolarmente il sapore ed inoltre non erano propriamente “morbidissime” come di solito sono le guancette. L’accoglienza è gentile e Antonella è simpatica (anche se qualcuno potrebbe non gradire il suo modo di fare), ma il tempo di attesa è abbastanza lungo: non avevamo fretta, ma quando si è in un ristorante si vuol mangiare senza dover attendere così tanto… Quando siamo entrati si è sentito subito l’odore di cucina che purtroppo è rimasto sui nostri vestiti, che abbiamo dovuto esporre all’aria per ore (per fortuna avevamo lasciato i cappotti in macchina!) Il locale è rustico e piccolo ed i tavoli sono troppo vicini fra loro (10 cm da un lato! Poco più di 20 dall’altro). È il motivo principale per cui non torneremo più.

04/05/2025: The best trattoria in Friuli Venezia Giulia and one of the best in Italy! My experience was complete in all aspects. The food was exceptional, from the highest quality raw materials, you can feel every ingredient that has been put on the plate with a masterly hand. All dishes were DELICIOUS! with many small interesting details such as crunchy wasabi crumbles in the Beef Tartar dish, the fried leaves, and much more. He also brought us some extra samples such as the ham and vegetable gel on the cauliflower salad before the first course, very fresh, good and balanced. Blecs with sclopit and San Daniele, no words, seasonal, fragrant, good good. The beef was unforgettable, such tender and flavorful beef I don't think I've ever eaten in my life. The place is beautiful, typical, warm, elegant. The service was impeccable, right from the phone call I felt pampered by the voice of the woman of the house. Everything perfect! A little more expensive than other places but absolutely worth every money. I will return several times with friends and family. A must for those who love good food!

16/05/2025: Spectacular setting with attention to detail (I recommend visiting between the end of April and the beginning of May to enjoy the beautiful Wisteria blooming in the outdoor garden), fast and precise service with quality products and very friendly and helpful staff. It was a pleasure to meet them.
15/05/2025: Like at home...hospitable...available....Stefania loving.I like it.
