Al Piccolo Porticciolo In Taranto

We went to this restaurant without booking, there was no room but somehow they worked out a solution and seated us. We had seafood appetizers and risotto, all very good, prices a little high even compared to our places (we are from Veneto).

Great experience in the sector, excellent cuisine, welcoming and familiar location. Friendliness and excellent professionalism of the staff.

Just one word, S-T-R-E-P-I-T-O-S-E!!! What can I say about this restaurant, simply AMAZING, from the super kind and competent staff, to the delicate and tasty cuisine. The restaurant is located in a slightly hidden street and you barely notice it from the outside, we went there the first time because it was recommended to us and never was advice more spot on. When you enter, magic happens, you find yourself in a room that you don't expect, warm, welcoming, and with some tables also placed in a mezzanine area, which really seems to be on the deck of a ship with a porthole. Intimate and cozy, clean and without strange "cooked" smells, as often happens especially in restaurants that serve fish. Relaxed atmosphere. You are immediately welcomed by the waiting staff, extremely kind and attentive to the presence and well-being of the customer, super kind and competent staff who also recommend what the specials of the day are since everything is fresh and prepared at the moment. As for the food, there are no adjectives that honestly do it justice. From the homemade appetizers, abundant, tasty and always varied; To the first courses, VERY DELICATE and always available also in the version with fresh pasta (which is also very good). Specifically, I attach a photo of a SPECTACULAR scialatiello with scampi, an amazing flavor, without too many aromas and/or smells like garlic, onion etc., as many instead use so much that they overwhelm the flavor and smell of the dish and that personally are also bad for me. From the dry and golden fried food, truly exquisite prawns in all their versions. Moving on to the creamy sorbet and really lemon flavored and not detergent as often happens; Ending with the dessert, in my case the Calabrian hard piece with chocolate and orange, of a truly superior quality, truly delicious. Even the bill is nothing to be forgiven for, in fact, for the quality of the food and the service the final bill in my opinion is very fair, especially if you compare it to other places, more famous and that enjoy undeserved fame, given the poor quality of the food they offer. Truly a nice discovery, "a safe haven" where you certainly can't go wrong if you want to eat really well. For me the best fish restaurant in Taranto and the province.

I returned after about three years...nothing on the menu has changed except for the price which has increased.

May 14, 2025. My son's swearing-in to the Navy, celebrated with relatives and friends in this restaurant (a stone's throw from the barracks). Very kind staff, exceptional food, well-kept and clean environment. Thanks to everyone, especially Nico who accommodated my every request. Highly recommended

This restaurant was a true culinary revelation! The food was incredibly delicious, with intense and harmonious flavors that left me speechless. The presentation was impeccable and the service was attentive and professional. Each dish was a work of art, an explosion of tastes and colors that made me feel like I was in heaven. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food and wants to have an unforgettable gastronomic experience. 5 stars! Well done!!!❤ Advice: more attention from the waiters when taking the order and perhaps hiring staff to optimize the quality of the service. Anyway great guys, you'll see us again soon!

Sono stato per la prima volta in questo ristorante oggi, insieme alla mia famiglia, accompagnati da una coppia di amici del posto. Il locale è accogliente, ma ciò che mi ha davvero colpito è stata la gentilezza del personale e l’eccellente qualità delle portate, sia per l’esecuzione che per la scelta delle materie prime. Abbiamo ordinato un antipasto misto mare/monte: tutto era ottimo. Lo stesso vale per i due primi piatti, davvero ben fatti. Non siamo riusciti a proseguire oltre, perché l’abbondanza dell’antipasto e dei primi ci ha saziati completamente. Faccio davvero i complimenti al personale di sala per la garbatezza, l’onestà e la disponibilità. Tornerò sicuramente appena sarò di nuovo a Taranto, perché merita assolutamente una seconda visita. Consigliatissimo .
