For me, one of the best pizzas in Rome. Neither thin nor thick, but somewhere in between. The appetizers are also good. The acoustics in some rooms could be better; it's best to eat outside or on the left as you enter. The food, however, is excellent.

As a tourist who doesn't speak Italian very well, I was surprised by the kindness of the service, from the reception to the waiter. They didn't speak very good English, but they made an effort to provide me with excellent service. This all adds to the experience. I ordered an Amatriciana, and I can say that of all the places I ate in Rome, this was the most delicious. Everything was perfect. I wish more people knew about this place.

Our friends had already been there and booked to celebrate their wife's birthday.
The location is below street level, an old cellar? Hence the name, but we'll be dining outside on the sidewalk.
The menu is very varied and offers a wide selection, but we went for the pizza, so supplì sbagliati and classic ones, and then pizzas.
Supplì sbagliati are pasta frittatas, now very popular in Rome. They're a reinterpretation of the Neapolitan pasta frittata, but with Roman twists: cacio e pepe, amatriciana, carbonara. The pasta usually used is bucatini, here, tonnarelli. I choose the Genoese one, very light, no Genoese one, nothing special. I wasn't thrilled with the classic supplì either. Then there are fries, like dippers, and draft red beer, strictly 33cl. Who knows!
Then the pizzas arrive, neither tall nor short as the menu says. I order the prosciutto, figs, stracciatella, and balsamic vinegar reduction, too muddy with the stracciatella, which was just cream. It's a shame because the base wasn't bad, a little tough, but edible.
My friend orders a focaccia made with just prosciutto, not crunchy, more so. I lend him my knife to cut it, but also the blade of my hand-forged Viper pizza, it can do a lot. It's a shame!
Our friend tries the Romeo, with Neapolitan broccoli rabe, stracciatella, confit cherry tomatoes, Taggiasca olives, and pine nuts. The base is also delicious.

The pizza and "sbagliati" supplì are excellent, and the staff is friendly and helpful. In the summer, the outdoor tables are located near the closed stalls of a market, and unfortunately, there are no devices to combat the heat of Roman evenings.
