Characterized by a welcoming and at the same time elegant atmosphere, with chic furnishings and centerpieces with always fresh flowers, the Giardinetto restaurant is located in the center of Chiasso, easily reachable on foot from the train station. The staff is friendly and helpful, attentive to the customer and his needs. I was impressed by the fact that they remembered each diner's favorite dishes! The menu is very broad, suitable for all tastes and varies every day, ranging between different traditional Swiss and Italian dishes. From spaghetti tomato and basil to chicory salad, from beef tartare to raw prawns, it is literally impossible to find a dish that is not more than delicious! Due to its variety the menu is suitable for every palate, and it would be possible to eat here every day of the week without ever having to have the same dish twice. The desserts are also delicious, all handcrafted: I can undoubtedly define them as the best I have ever tried. Try the apple pie and for chocolate lovers the brownies; they won't disappoint you! If you pass through the Como area I recommend you stop and eat here, it will become a regular stop.

I stumbled upon this restaurant five years ago by chance, and since then, it’s become a must-visit every time I’m nearby. The food is absolutely delicious, the selection of dishes is extensive, and the menu changes daily, featuring Swiss traditional fare (the house specialities being the beef tartare and the roast chicken), all expertly prepared. There are always vegetarian options and pasta dishes available, making it perfect for families, business meetings, or even a romantic evening out. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to explain the menu and offer recommendations in both Italian and English. If you’re in the area, be sure to try the desserts – they’re homemade and truly deserve to be in a proper pâtisserie. The atmosphere is both elegant and welcoming. Highly recommended!
