Al Gatto Nero Da Ruggero In Venezia

We had a one-day islands trip and visited Murano, Burano and Torcello, so decided to have a lunch stop on Burano and we were lucky to get a table in this pretty trattoria in September. Also the challenge was we had our two dogs - they were also welcomed (and got water immediately - it was a hot day). The meals were excellent and enjoyed the friendly athmosphere too, the place was getting full so I recommend to book a table ahead when you know you would like to come. Regarding the prices, I think what we paid was reasonable, we were satisfied with everything and keep in mind this is an island... Burano really deserves a slow down and i was sorry our time was limited, we would love to come back and have another meal in the Al Gatto Nero! Also thank you for the wine recommendation.

We got there today and saw the sign they are on vacation until Dec. 5th, 2025.

We wanted to go last week but when we arrived we found it was closed and without any kind of sign notifying the closure.

Worth the boat ride to Burano! We had the famous Risotto di Go and it was incredible. The staff was friendly even though it was super busy. Eating fresh seafood while looking at the colorful houses was such a memorable experience. A must-do if you are in Venice

Highly recommended. We had a wonderful meal… Seafood spaghetti, fried fish, tiramisu… all the usual classics… But I have to say, it was especially good. Excellent value for money. 100% recommended in Burano

You can't get more authentic food in Venice. The menu features only seafood and fish. The service is friendly, helpful, and very attentive. You can even see into the kitchen from the dining room.

If there were 10 stars I would put them, 5 stars are not enough for this place!! I did my daughter’s christening and it was the best place we could choose!!! The chef, the people and the food are on another level !! The place serves every desire and exceeds them !!!! Highly highly recommended to go !! Whoever hasn’t been there MUST go :))

Exceptional food and service. We had made a reservation as recommended and got the seafood special appetiser and risotto. The seafood was super fresh and seasoned beautifully. A very special experience. We paid €121 for the food and water.

We went to this restaurant whilst visiting the area. We ordered the calamari, the mixed seafood spaghetti and a fish platter. We split it amongst 3 people and it was more than enough. All the food were amazing, cooked to the perfect texture. Everyone was really nice to us. I really loved the experience and if you ever go to Venice, you definitely should go to this small island and enjoy this fine meal! ~2025 Michelin Recommendations
