This place has juicy, fresh and delicious seafood! We loved the razor clams especially. My husband also loved the clam spaghetti. The ragu pasta was of good quality too. We had the traditional tiramisu for dessert and it was lovely.

Don't listen to all the bad reviews complaining about the service. Gatto Nero has fresh fish directly from the fish market, and they show you your fish before cooking it, which is done to perfection. The risotto is phenomenal. They comped our desserts because the food took a little longer than average, but we didn't even notice the wait. Truly a gem.

I had the risotto alla buranella and unfortunately - its not a special dish. Maybe other menu items are excellent but this is not it. The service was great and the ambiance too but that dish is a regular risotto on a fish broth that you can cook at home.

03/10/2025: The waiter's attitude was average, very average. He spoke English to us even though he knew we spoke Italian (which was not the point). When he gave us the bill, he said an English word that we did not understand. I said that we could speak Italian and there was no need to keep speaking English. He was a little surprised and then said with a little contempt: You don't speak English, English is international or something... The atmosphere was good and the food was OK, but the waiter was not so good.
02/10/2025: A great place for classic Italian food! Unpretentious and well-located!
