I'd been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, and finally the right opportunity presented itself. From the presentation of the dishes to the flavor, I was truly satisfied: the quality is evident and can be tasted in every course. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was tastefully decorated.

Many pseudo-restaurateurs, when given 3-star reviews, get offended and respond with pique. These overpriced mediocrities should go eat fish at Al Gallo. They'd learn what it means to have excellent (and not predictable) ingredients, cooked lightly yet deliciously. They'd understand, beyond their personal tastes (I always prefer to eat on a tablecloth, which isn't available here), how to elegantly furnish a restaurant. What kind of experience should be offered when the price is well over 50 euros (as is now the case, especially in my hometown of Bologna, even in dives). They'd realize that either places like Al Gallo should be given 6 stars in their category, or their service should be downgraded to 2. I'd improve the bread. Hats off. PS, since I've been back several times, I must add that I ate one of the best ice creams of my life. This restaurant is a real surprise.
