Good food, good breakfast menu, and the staff was very friendly and kind.

I was seeking fresh pasta in a locals type setting. I didn't want an expensive tourist experience. Much googling brought me to this little place off the beaten path. It was actually quite close to my hotel (near the train station). When I entered, the server noticed me immediately and let me pick any seat I wished. I am a single diner and was pleased to be treated like anyone else. The staff were loud, laughing and fun to watch! I felt like a local. I ordered Gnocchi Formaggio (4 cheese). They brought out some bread sticks and I enjoyed a Compari with soda while waiting. Didn't take long and my Gnocchi arrived. They were made fresh to order and were the best pasta I have ever eaten! And, I order a lot of Pasta. Truly, a local fresh pasta experience that I'm glad I found. I have already recommended to friends that travel here regularly. I can't wait to go back and try something else from the fresh pasta menu. The Pasta and Compari drink came to a total of 15 Euro. Great value! Thank you staff and cook of Al Cafeterier!

We fell in love with this place and the owner. We returned 3 more times during our few days to Venice. We were so hungry that I didn’t take a photo of the delicious soup, salad, amatriciana and arrabiata. We also came each morning for an affogato with generous amounts of vanilla and chocolate gelato. Such a friendly environment. Place was packed at dinner but we always seemed to be able to get a table.

This restaurant proved convenient as it was close to our accommodation, but the food was rather average and not entirely authentic.

A very good experience. For my first time in Venice, this restaurant was excellent. The food was delicious and the service impeccable and quick (the waitress even offered my dog ​​a drink without me asking). I highly recommend this establishment!
