Sure, it’s a tight squeeze and a bit of a wait but it’s well worth it!! We felt like we’d been invited into Andreas home for a personal meal. There’s nothing like it in Venice (maybe ven Italy) AND the food is tip top! I’d guess he serves only a handful of people per night. We made our reservation 1 month in advance - not sure if this is necessary. But I’d say it’s worth making sure you have a meal here if you’re coming to Venice!

One of the best dinners I’ve ever had in Venice — truly!
This restaurant is cozy and welcoming (I loved the candlelight!), and the host — who is also the chef — runs a true one-man show. But what a show it is! He’s warm, fun, and clearly passionate about what he does.
The menu is traditional (son veneta di Marostica - I’m Venetian myself, so I can say that) but with a personal twist. You can tell the chef carefully sources his ingredients and cooks with love, balancing authenticity with a touch of luxury.
We had spaghetti alle vongole — absolutely spectacular — and the chef’s take on carbonara, which might just be the best I’ve ever tasted. We also tried the rabbit and donkey stew, both rich and deeply flavourful.
The cherry on top? A thoughtful wine list featuring natural wines.
This place is a real gem — authentic, charming, and perfect for locals and curious travellers wanting to experience true Venetian cuisine.

We tried few natural wines, chef was very happy to explain and show you choices, love it. He is opening new bottles so you can find what you are looking for!

Andreas food is incredible. He is so funny and sweet. If you wanna eat at his place make sure to clear your schedule because it takes at least two hours to decide what to eat prepare the food eat etc.. but its so worth it. Best food I ate in Italy so far (we paid 50 euros each (3 people) for three appetizers + pasta for each and two bottles of wine)

Don’t miss coming here if you’re in Venice! We would come to Venice again just to eat here! The owner, Andrea, is the chef, host and sommelier. Great food, wine and superb atmosphere.

Appena arrivati a Venezia siamo stati accolti dal proprietario Andrea nel suo ristorante, che si è rivelato essere una delizia, sia per l'atmosfera che per la cucina. Nonostante il ritardo rispetto alla prenotazione, siamo stati accolti con gentilezza e cortesia ed abbiamo avuto la possibilità di gustare piatti tipici preparati dal proprietario, che è anche chef e sommelier. Oltre al cibo, ci ha consigliato due ottimi calici di vino rosso che si sono accompagnati benissimo ai cibi che avevamo scelto. Molto attento anche alle esigenze dei bambini, cortese, gentile, premuroso.

This restaurant is a GEM for us. Owner Andrea whips up fabulous meals. He is a tour de force - cooks, washes and serves the food by himself. Love his wicked sense of humour. The food cooked by Andrea was super good and I almost wanted to stay longer just to learn his food secrets! Best part, his cozy restaurant is near "famous" bridges - watch the Mission Impossible movie! His cooking is excellent, made from freshest ingredients. Will highly recommend this restaurant to all our friends from Asia.
