Ai Pie del Ponte In Venezia

We are left speechless after dinner last night. My husband and I are on our honeymoon and by chance made a reservation at Ai pie del ponte. We did not expect the outstanding experience we had. The chef and owner Andrea was more hosting us in his home and clearly extremely passionate about his work. We had the privilege of meeting some of his family the night we visited as this is one of the places the locals go, and it was the best experience we have had in Europe so far and likely will be the best for the rest of our trip. The food itself was the best pesto pasta and ink pasta we have ever had anywhere and the scallops, which we get many places as we love seafood, were indescribable. We spent much of our night here and felt more than welcomed, appreciating the warmth and humor of this family restaurant. Truly an experience we will not forget and will intentionally return anytime we are near in the future. Thank you so much!!

What a fantastic experience. Not only was the food amazing, but the service from Andrea was also phenomenal. We got the pesto pasta and carbonara and both were out of this world. This was the best pasta we have had in Italy. Andrea was fun and lovely and hosted us very well. Great wine, plus the sunset and views were also pure class! Would come back here in a heartbeat.

We ultimately didn't have dinner there. We arrived for our reservation at 7:45 p.m. full of hope having read the wonderful reviews. We discovered an empty space, without an outdoor table and a series of injunctions on signs which completely put us off the idea of ​​trying this restaurant. We were probably wrong, but we did not understand the hostility of these messages. “Only enter after looking at the menu” “No outside tables and for those who insist it costs €10”, etc… Too much contradiction with previous opinions.

Excellent food, tremendous wine selection, well-priced, magnificent hospitality. Charming setting and charming host (a one-man show; he is also the one patiently walking you through menu and wine list, and cooking everything to perfection). Tiramisu was an absolute delight!

Andrea became my best friend. I asked to help in the kitchen as I am a ‘professional’ chef, but the ONE MAN SHOW handled it himself. I also offered to sing and gave him a glimpse of my talent as I left. He will take me up on my offer next time ;). Andrea’s is everything you are seeking for when traveling to Venice. Comedy, conversation, and dont miss out on his ‘love’ dessert. Sets the mood for a nice night afterwords. Graci, Graci, Graci. Never change Andrea and come to Staten Island soon. I will host you then? Maybe you’ll let me cook for you?

There is no better place in Venice for a meal, and you cannot change my mind. Ended up stopping in here by chance with my sister for dinner after not finding anywhere else that could accommodate our food allergies, and I have never been happier to happen upon a place. Andrea is the owner, chef, waitstaff, sommelier, and more, and he is absolutely amazing! He was so incredibly accommodating, making sure there was no way for cross contamination and changing his menu for us to be able to eat. The food and wine were exceptional, but nothing compares to the atmosphere that Andrea creates. We will truly never forget our meal here and are looking forward to someday making it back.

An excellent, authentic experience in the heart of Venezia. The food is great and so is the wine. Would recommend to anyone seeking an authentic experience away from the tourist traps.

Endroit très confidentiel dont le patron est aussi le cuisinier et le serveur. Des plats excellents, cuisinés devant vous à partir de produits frais. Accueil très sympathique. De bons conseils pour les vins. Adresse à retenir loin des pièges à touristes

Magnifique endroit. Nombre restreint de table. Très grand choix de vins originaux que le patron se fait un plaisir de faire découvrir. Endroit très convivial où vous serez reçu comme des amis. Le prix est un peu plus élevé qu'ailleurs car la convivialité est au rendez-vous.
