A very nice atmosphere, but that doesn't disguise the fact that the food was mediocre and the service not particularly good.
After our food arrived, no one attended to our table for almost 40 minutes. We weren't given anything to drink, much less our table was taken away.
Mind you, the restaurant was maybe at about 30% capacity.
It's a real shame, but unfortunately, it happens quite often in Syracuse!

We booked after the premiere of Elettra at the Greek Theater also to avoid queues at the exit as it was right in front.
Beautiful and very welcoming new location, super friendly and attentive staff. We were served quickly considering the confusion. You can see that they are in the business and care about it. The pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven with ancient Sicilian grain flours that you can choose. I chose Perciasacchi, my boyfriend Tumminia and I must say that I liked them both very much.
I highly recommend it.

Not even time to order.... chips ready, too bad they had been recycled and heated in a wood oven, terrible flavor and not crunchy at all. The pizzas are well cooked and tasty, the price is high 42 euros 1 margherita, 1 similar 4 cheeses + 2 beers of 0.50 and a bottle of water.

Very hospitably received. It was offered to taste the chips from the local Siracusa potatoes. The chips were still warm and we enjoyed them!
Then we ordered a pizza, we could choose from three types of ancient Sicilian grains (aha, hence the name “Ai Grani Antichi”!). Each type of flour gives a different effect on the pizza: crispy, soft, thick edge. The pizza was delicious!
Then the waiter recommended a semifreddo of Sicilian almonds. And it was really wonderful. Then the owner came to ask if we wanted to taste an amaro, on the house. They have a range of 80 types of liqueurs and we got something with herbs and one with cinnamon, ginger and rosemary. Delicious!

Zeer gastvrij ontvangen. Er werd aangeboden de chips te proeven van de lokale Siracusa aardappelen. De chips was nog warm en we hebben ervan gesmuld!
Daarna een pizza besteld, we mochten kiezen uit drie soorten oude Siciliaanse granen (aha vandaar de naam “Ai Grani Antichi”!). Iedere meelsoort geeft weer een ander effect op de pizza, krokant, zacht, dikke rand. De pizza was verrukkelijk!
Daarna raadde de ober een semifreddo aan van Siciliaanse amandelen. En die was ook echt zalig. Daarna kwam de eigenaar vragen of we een amaro wilden proeven, van het huis. Ze hebben een assortiment van 80 soorten likeurtjes en wij kregen iets met kruiden en eentje met kaneel, gember en rozemarijn. Heerlijk!

The only problem is the staff, or rather the owner, so we avoid offending people who don't belong there, the waiters are exceptional... The location is beautiful, elegant and well kept... If they ever sold it I'd think about it!

The location has changed and is still very nice but I have always found a welcoming environment, kind and attentive staff, very good pizzas and average prices. I recommend it.
