⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A hidden gem in the mountains: excellence in every aspect in the Municipality of San Vincenzo la Costa La Locanda del Greco is one of those places that stays in your heart. Situated in a splendid mountain setting, it is the ideal refuge for those seeking tranquility, fresh air and authenticity. Excellent food: each dish is prepared with care, using local products of the highest quality. From typical cheeses to cured meats and porcini mushrooms, a local heritage, from traditional first courses to sweet homemade treats: everything was simply delicious. Each course tells a story, and you can feel the passion of those who cook. Value for money: truly excellent. You eat and stay very well at a more than fair price, considering the quality of the products and the attention to detail. Hospitality: warm, authentic and attentive. The managers are exquisite people, always ready to recommend excursions, tell the history of the place or simply make you feel at home. The B&B is cared for in every detail, clean, welcoming and with rooms that smell of wood and silence. Sleeping here is a regenerating experience: the mountain breeze, the birds singing and the peace of the landscape complete the picture. A perfect place to unplug, immerse yourself in nature and rediscover true flavors. We will definitely return, and we enthusiastically recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic experience, far from mass tourism.

Review – La Locanda del Greco: an authentic symphony of Calabrian tradition When the desire to bring together two worlds – Nordic refinement and the genuine soul of the South – materializes in a gastronomic experience, the result can be extraordinary. This is exactly what happened during our dinner at La Locanda del Greco, a true temple of Calabrian cuisine, where tradition becomes emotion and every dish tells a story. We started with a very specific intent: to convey to esteemed friends from Northern Italy, especially from Venice, the value of our Calabrian culinary heritage. And we can say, with absolute conviction, that we have fully achieved this goal. La Locanda del Greco has been able to accompany us on this gastronomic journey with a care, quality and warmth that are rarely encountered. Appetizer: the essence of Calabria on the table The journey began with a surprising appetizer, both for its abundance and quality. A carefully selected selection of zero-mile cured meats – the true stars of the area – opened the show: fragrant, perfectly seasoned, with a well-balanced flavor and a meaty structure that denotes the artisanal nature of the product. Alongside, aubergine and meatballs: fried to perfection, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a full but never excessive flavor, which fully reflects the most authentic and “homemade” Calabrian cuisine. First courses: handmade pasta and sauces of memory But it is in the first courses that the soul of La Locanda del Greco manifests itself powerfully. The handmade tagliatelle with fresh mushrooms (seasonal and probably picked locally) struck us for the perfect consistency of the pasta and the delicacy of the sauce, which let the scent of the Calabrian undergrowth shine through. Also unforgettable were the paccheri with aubergines and sausage: a full-bodied, balanced sauce, made “just like at home”, in which each ingredient had a precise role. The aubergines, creamy and well-drained, blended perfectly with a tasty but never invasive sausage, all tied together by a tomato sauce that tasted of summer and tradition. Second courses: the warmth of home cooking Among the second courses, the meat roll filled with ham and cheese stands out: tender, succulent, enveloping. Here too, the quality of the raw materials is indisputable: local meats, artisanal cheeses and a cooking technique that enhances without covering. To accompany, new potatoes with the skin, roasted with skill. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with an authentic and full flavour: simple yet memorable, as only things well done can be. Final considerations At La Locanda del Greco you don't just eat: you live an experience, you participate in a story made of expert hands, real ingredients, respect for the land and for the roots. It is a restaurant that does not limit itself to serving dishes, but transmits culture, identity and hospitality, just as we wanted in our small intent: to make friends from the North feel the heart of the South. A place from which you leave satisfied, pampered and enriched, with the desire to return. And perhaps also with a tear of emotion in your heart. Highly recommended.

We spent two splendid hours in this farmhouse, surrounded by greenery where, as it was just us, the owner pampered us with impeccable service. The mixed starter was delicious, the mushroom risotto perfect and the meat main course really tasty.

Siamo stati lì con la mi famiglia un sabato. Devo dire che il posto è molto carino anche se lontano. Si mangia discretamente, qualcosa può essere migliorato però sono simpatici e la cucina è casareccia, prodotti tipici.

Il Pergolato Da Angelo

27/06/2025: The dishes are excellent; they are visually appealing and magically whet your appetite. Our waiter, Marcos, was very friendly and courteous. He provided efficient service, had excellent communication skills, and was attentive to every detail. Needless to say, Marcos is Argentinian, but he also speaks Italian. A 10/10 atmosphere. I would recommend and return!
