Il Calanco è una struttura di tipo familiare, rustica e accogliente che da tempo rappresenta un’eccellenza nel territorio pisticcese. Si contraddistingue per la genuinità del personale che ci lavoro, attento ad accogliere ogni tua richiesta, per la bontà dei piatti serviti, la maggior parte a km zero e per i sapori intensi e veraci tipico della tradizione lucana. Se volete vivere un’esperienza di vitto e alloggio lontana da stress e da inutili sofisticazioni questo è il posto che fa per voi. Insomma al Calanco si mangia bene e si dorme meglio. Bravo Giuseppe, bravi tutti!!!!!

02/11/2025: Family dinner (6 people) on a Saturday evening. The service was prompt and accurate despite the room being full. The dishes were typical of Lucanian cuisine and absolutely impeccable. The price was average. The location is quaint and clean, inside the baronial castle. Highly recommended!
26/10/2025: We were passing through and were greeted with extreme kindness—it may seem obvious, but it isn't. The owner found us a seat even though we hadn't booked and the restaurant was full (two birthdays). Great attention to local products and the cuisine (run by his wife) is truly excellent, with a touch of experimentation. Very fair prices for the quality of the products used, and a comfortable atmosphere. It's a shame we can't become regulars due to the distance, but if we were to visit again, we wouldn't hesitate to return. I highly recommend it, both for the food and for the heartwarming, genuine smiles.

05/11/2025: Like everything in Matera, the best thing about it is the atmosphere, which is fantastic. The locally sourced beef was cooked to perfection and tasted good, but it was quite fibrous. The selection of meats and cheeses is worthwhile. The sausage with potatoes is a kind of chorizo ​​criollo, but with an anise-flavored spice that overpowers the meat's flavor. The formaggie cheese was very good. As I said, the best thing about it all was the atmosphere.
02/11/2025: A pleasant lunch break at Osteria L’Arco. We opted for a simple meal of pasta. The “Troccoli con baccalà alla materana,” a regional specialty, was particularly enjoyable. Troccoli, typical of Puglia, are thick, slightly square pasta, perfect for holding sauce. Here, they were served with flavorful baccalà and a rich, tangy sauce. The service was attentive and the setting charming, especially on the terrace overlooking the narrow streets of Matera.
