The quaint village of Mascherpinga is reached with a short, pleasant stroll through stone houses and cobblestone streets, to this unforgettable Agriturismo, entirely run by Mother and Son.
Three tables seating 26, where time seems to have stood still, offering us this journey into the origins of the Bergamo and Brescia valleys.
They produce their own wine (3 different varieties): Cabernet and Merlot, 100% Pinot Noir, and 100% Merlot. As I write, they've opened a bottle of "Sarceti" (Merlot and Cabernet) from January 2023, and during a brief chat, the air is filled with the aroma of wine... which, upon sipping, confirms its deliciousness, born from its aroma, purity, and delicacy!
Appetizer with pancetta, coppa, and beef salami, fried gnocco, onions, Russian salad, flavored croutons, giardiniera, and cheese.
Purity and authenticity are the key words of this delightful establishment.
The tagliatelle with wild boar had a light pasta that I greatly appreciated for its ability to balance the physiological heaviness of the sauce.
Now the scent of rabbit takes over the air; with baked potatoes and polenta. The rabbit is also raised directly by the owners of this inimitable Agriturismo. A farmhouse with delicate cuisine, from sowing and raising the animals with care and dedication, to the art of cooking their own products with enthusiasm and commitment: also the fruit of growing up and living in these areas.
To finish: Peach Tiramisu, coffee, and grappa; and a wonderful night in their adjacent B&B, outside where silence reigns supreme, the freshness is like the sea air, and dawn rises first in the village, illuminating the quiet that is increasingly missed in the city.
