Agriturismo Cascina Barbassa In Tavagnasco

The only complaint I can make about Claudia's fabulous hospitality at this agriturismo off a sleepy church piazza is that they fed us so well that what was meant to be a quick lunch stop lasted way too long. Excellent regional salumi and cheese that you're unlikely to find elsewhere, honey roasted chestnuts and great risotto as well as filled crepes. A wonderful way to experience Piedmont's Alpine cuisine (with a touch of Val d'Aosta as it's so close by). Great local wines and a beautiful setting too.

We had a wonderful meal, the set menu was traditional Piedmontese, but everything was carefully prepared and excellent. We'll definitely be back. The price was right.

We stopped a while ago to watch the ostriches on their farm from the road. The owner approached us and told us about their agriturismo, very kind and passionate about his work. We promised ourselves we'd stop by and try their restaurant. They offer a seasonal fixed menu. Most of the products are homemade, and the ingredients are excellent. Everything is excellent, even the house wine. The attentive and courteous service is evident, a family experience, but with the attention of a restaurant. The place has been carefully renovated. We'll definitely be back.
