Stunning views of Lake Campotosto and the Gran Sasso mountain range, excellent food, and a lovely atmosphere, almost like a mountain refuge! Highly recommended!

I stayed alone for one night in a tent. The place is very pretty, with a beautiful view and cool, given the altitude. I had dinner at the restaurant, and the manager, Mauro, sat me down with some locals, with whom I had a lovely conversation.
A very pleasant experience and a delicious dinner
(you eat what you get 😉)
I'll definitely be back, as it's an excellent starting point for my bike tours.

According to the internet, it was temporarily closed. So I called. It was supposed to open in early May. A few days later, "temporarily closed" disappeared, and Cardito opened. So, given the fantastic experience with the campsite, but especially the restaurant, I drove there, which is quite a long trip. Upon arrival, there was a big lock on the gate. The campsite was still closed! What a disappointment!

What wonderful, lovely people in a fantastic place. In the evening, they serve a delicious 5-course dinner made with fresh, local products. I haven't eaten this well in years. You can taste the love and passion with which everything is prepared. Truly a place to never forget and definitely to return to.

Lovely people and a great campsite for real campers.

A little paradise nestled in the greenery above Lake Campotosto.
Very relaxing. Very friendly staff.

A really nice, small, terraced campsite with a magnificent view over the reservoir and the mountains. Showers and toilets are rather basic but adequate. You have to get hot water for washing up from the shower block. The campsite really shines, though, with its fantastic dinner. There's a set menu featuring local specialties. Ours was a kind of bruschetta, lentils, pasta, meat, dessert, and a bottle of wine.
The owners made our evening very enjoyable. Thank you so much!
P.S.: There are also some really beautiful hiking trails that start right from the campsite.

A beautifully situated campsite overlooking Lake Compostoso and the Monti della Laga mountain range.
The pitches are terraced, and there are also two meadows for tents.
The very welcoming owners also run a charming restaurant serving traditional, hearty food (multi-course menu) and an open barbecue area. The sanitary facilities suffer somewhat from the mountainous location: 2 toilets + 1 accessible toilet and only 1 shower (with a curtain). The dishwashing area is outdoors and only offers cold water – otherwise, this would definitely be a 5-star campsite.
