A place with a slightly retro atmosphere but excellent cuisine. The owners and waiter welcome you like family. The appetizer counter is as rich and plentiful as the menu.

Heerlijke romeinse pizza’s. Suppli, mozzarelline en crochette allemaal even lekker. Moretti bier van de tap en een heerlijke torta di mela met ijs. Eerlijke prijzen en vriendelijke en snelle service. Kortom een zeer geslaagde avond. Hier komen we zeker terug .

We were lucky as table was available during busy Saturday dinner time, so we didn’t have to wait. Friendly service promptly attended us, I order seafood risotto and it was really good, my partner had carbonara not keen on it. But we order pizza to go as well, and it was amazing. I don’t mind retro, and traditional set up, although I have find it challenging to talk to my partner.

The moment you walk in, the place radiates warmth and personality — the kind that only comes from real passion. I had a glass of vino bianco, crisp and refreshing, the perfect opening act. Then came the pasta… First, a cacio e pepe that was silky, peppery perfection — no fuss, just flavour done right. Then, a carbonara that could convert even the most stubborn skeptics. Rich, comforting, and authentically Roman. The owner is an absolute standout — welcoming, funny, and clearly takes immense pride in every dish. Al19 isn’t just a meal — it’s a Roman experience. One I’d go back for in a heartbeat.
