AD Pasticceria - Ristorante & Bar Pasticceria In Parma

We'd always walked past this place without stopping, and it was a pleasant surprise. Fast service despite the crowds, and everything was good. Parking is limited, so it's a bit inconvenient. Nice atmosphere, and a selection of pastries and savory treats for all tastes.

Good pastry shop or for an aperitif. Unfortunately, I have to point out that I was there at the end of July and got a fine in front of the shop... I received it by regular mail, not registered mail, because I overstayed. I didn't see the signs; perhaps they're there now, but the staff could have warned me of this change. A sign posted inside the shop would have been enough, but I don't think this is serious! I don't know if I'll be back.

A very convenient location because it's close to the highway exit. It's my lunch spot when I'm in Parma for work. It started out as a bakery and pastry shop, but for lunch they always prepare their own delicious dishes, carefully presented and a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Their counters are always stocked with top-quality pastries and sweet and savory baked goods that are a joy just to look at. The atmosphere is refined and welcoming. The staff is always kind, attentive, and welcoming. Parking is available in the area in front and nearby. You can dine inside or outside, where they have tables covered with umbrellas. A very beautiful and welcoming place, I highly recommend it!

This review may seem simple, but it's not. If you were to consider only the quality of the products, it would be a 5 ⭐ very easy, but three things lowered the overall rating to a 3 ✨. Let's see which ones: 1) The area (and it's not their fault) is industrial/busy because it's close to the highway toll booth. Probably great for business, and for those who benefit, but it certainly can't be like a pedestrian area in Parma. 2) The real sore point: the undisplayed prices. I don't generally criticize all the prices per se, since I can imagine that you pay for the quality of some, but putting a window display without even a price tag on the desserts is clearly a strategy to sell a product and then present it "la dolorosa" with fairly high prices. For example, for an excellent pastry/pastry dessert, sitting at a restaurant in the center, you can certainly imagine spending 7-10 euros. One morning on the highway, in northern Parma... no thanks, I wouldn't have made that choice if I had known the price. Although it's an excellent product, the cost doesn't seem justified. 3) The service missed a croissant, which can happen, but let's say at least this oversight made the bill less expensive...
