Acqualavica In Catania

We went to this restaurant when it was empty, even though it was usually very busy, so it was perfect for those who like peace and quiet. The meals were good and quite generous, but flies kept bothering us, which suggests the fish must have been very fresh!

The fish on the set menu wasn't fresh and smelled unpleasant. The second courses weren't up to par. However, the servers were very friendly and pleasant.

There were five of us, and we all chose the set menu. The dinner started very well: the appetizers and first courses absolutely lived up to expectations, well-prepared and enjoyable. Unfortunately, from the main course to the dessert, the quality gradually declined. In particular, the calamari was quite tough and difficult to chew, compromising the overall experience. There were also some lapses in service at the end: the ice cream was served with a visibly dirty spoon, a detail that should have been noticed before arriving at the table. Furthermore, the desserts seemed a bit disorganized. A very positive note for the ambiance: a truly pleasant atmosphere, well-balanced music, and the perfect room temperature, all elements that contributed to a pleasant evening. Overall, an experience with mixed feelings: a great start and a very welcoming location, but some aspects of the service and the final courses deserve more attention.

Excellent selection of appetizers made with top-quality ingredients. Imaginative dishes and a dynamic menu. This was my first visit, and I can't keep track of how many times I've dined here. I recommend trying it.

I went to dinner at this restaurant with my girlfriend and friends. It was a truly unique experience. The staff were attentive and paid attention to every detail, and the place was very welcoming. There's little to say about the food: exquisite and delicious. The dishes were meticulously crafted, and we could barely eat them by looking, but the quality was truly exceptional. A breathtaking culinary experience. Nowadays, Acqualavica is one of the few restaurants in Catania I would recommend to anyone. We'll definitely be back.

What can I say? I went with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. We really enjoyed the dinner, it was spectacular, with scampi and sea urchins for the first course. I'll be hosting some international guests next month, and I highly recommend it.

We tried this restaurant a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Just one thing: we couldn't talk much inside because of the echo of other customers' voices.
