So many good cicchetti choices. Loved it here. Polenta is very good. The meatballs are great. For the adventurous try the fish based items like squid in ink.

Piccolo locale specializzato in piatti tradizionali veneziani a base di pesce, in formula da asporto. Ottimi i calamari ripieni. Prezzi abbastanza onesti rispetto a tanti altri nella zona.

15/12/2024: We had a fixed menu lunch Which doesn't include what they write Plus you pay 5 euros for service and water per person and have a normal menu Mediocre cuisine... Small but welcoming environment
06/12/2024: The food was very good, as starters we ordered a board of Italian cold cuts, all incredible, highlighting the mortadella, the best I have ever tasted. For the main course we ordered the saffron rissotto with crispy ham, very good and with a careful presentation. The waiters were very attentive and friendly, giving a very good service. We sat on the terrace overlooking the canal. Nice views with a hot stove to avoid getting cold. Also, when congratulating them on the service when paying, they invited us to a glass of Limonchello. Very happy for a tourist site.

Osteria Bancogiro

29/06/2024: The 7th restaurant in my 11 restaurant ‘eating Venice’ extravaganza Osteria Bancogiro delivered. Located in close proximity to the Rialto Market and bridge, it’s situated in a really historic building, where in the past rich Venetians would use a messaging system to collect credits and pay debts, not liking to handle money personally. It’s a beautiful and atmospheric location to eat Venetian food. Like all my previous restaurants, my table had been booked months in advance, and reconfirmed a few days before. The comprehensive menu had plenty of choice, but with a twist. Thumbing through the pages I opted for the Scallops and Rhubarb cevicé and home made Bigola (thick spaghetti like pasta) with Lobster Sauce, Cavier and Zucchini and for dessert, an interesting looking Bavarian Mascarpone Cake with Cocoa, Maple Syrup and Truffle. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic, everything was obviously fresh and the chefs skill obvious. Wine was a local Chardonnay which matched beautiful. I have to say, the dessert was particularly interesting with the savoury truffle notes balancing the sweetness of the Mascarpone and Maple Syrup 10/10 another standout place to eat. Service was relaxed and friendly, food knockout and reasonably priced for the quality.
