Review from 2022 (google went crazy and deleted my post):
The food was delicious, I had horse meat for the first time and it was amazing, but the bill after leaving the restaurant did not match. Attention! Always ask for a receipt! I read in the reviews that they cheat tourists and do not give receipts. In our case it was similar, we ordered 2x pasta (12 euro), 2x horse meat (8 euro), service (1 euro / person) 2x 500ml beers (we don't know how much they cost) but we paid 33 euro for the whole thing, so it looks like that the beer cost around 5 euros! I would gladly give 5 stars but for unfair practices towards tourists I give 3 stars which is a pity because the food was really defending!

Great experience with tasty meat from the grill, great local wine, literally sitting on the street in the smoke of the grill. Original place. You will not regret this experience.

Podría parecer un restaurante un poco de mala muerte a primera vista, pero la calidad de la comida es excelente y el precio es muy razonable. Tuvimos un tazón grande de ensalada, penne alla Norma, espagueti carbonara, filete de caballo a la parrilla y salchicha, albóndigas planas. Todo tan abundante y sabroso. Su casa roja que se sirve frío, realmente combinaba con todos estos platos rústicos. Si te apetece probar la carne de caballo (sin olor en absoluto, solo tierna) , te recomiendo esta trattoria familiar.

Trattoria Achille, in the historic heart of Catania, highly recommended! Authentic traditional cuisine. Quick service and very kind staff. All the dishes we tasted here, during our holiday, were very good. The specialty is the grilled meat, excellent, the horse meatballs, an explosion of flavor and the pasta alla Norma exceptional for its unique taste. Good house red wine. We felt right at home. A Catania culinary experience not to be missed!

Found it by chance through reviews on Google and it didn't disappoint us, far from it, we returned two evenings in a row.
The first evening we ordered: sausages, classic and lemon meatballs and slices, all of horse meat.
We also took the side dishes, which are served buffet-style.
All the food we tasted was excellent.
Highly recommended.

Abbiamo assaggiato per cena vari piatti, a base di carne e di pesce. È rinomato per la carne di cavallo, consiglio di provarlo.
