On Friday 21 June 2024 we organized the Perugian meeting "Hands off the Apennines" in the Philosophers' Gastronomy between the United Territorial Committees, the Perugia representative of the Verdi, Ambiente, Società association (Claudio Capitini) and the lawyer Valeria Passeri, expert of environmental issues. On this occasion of meeting and conviviality between the inhabitants of the internal areas and the citizens of the Umbrian capital, together with the good food of the Gastronomia Filosofi, we shared the need to protect the countryside, hills and mountains from uniform and forced industrialization projects ( wind farms on the ridges and photovoltaics in the green areas), incompatible with the different vocations and aspirations of the territories and its inhabitants.

There are places like this in every city, town and village in the world! This is not just a delicatessen. This is a project that focuses on the human being, agriculture, healthy eating, and equality. Claudio the owner is a special being. The place is close to the historic center of Perugia and can be reached in a few minutes with escalators and then a short walk along Via dei Filosofi. If you go there you can't help but taste the delicious and healthy ice cream like the food that Claudio prepares...

We organized a conference for 80 people in which one of the successful elements was the delicious, creative and genuine food that Gastronomia Filosofi provided us. My friends and I entered, attracted by the artisanal ice cream which, consumed at one of the outside tables, was delicious! I took three lactose-free flavours, I could taste the fresh fruit and it wasn't too sweet. The owner explained to us his philosophy aimed at carefully choosing natural ingredients not only for ice creams; in the shop there is a whole range of other products: bread with ancient grains, wholemeal products, macrobiotics and even a delicatessen of its own production. Continued hours also on Sundays. A nice find just outside the center of Perugia!

A person-sized place where you immediately feel at ease, small and welcoming in its simplicity. Seasonal foods, mainly local and prepared by excellent staff serving the best that Nature offers us.
