01/03/2026: Had lunch at Il Ghiottone and overall it was a very pleasant experience. We ordered the Spaghetti alle Vongole, Parmigiana di Melanzane, and some white pizza served as table bread. The Vongole was simple and well executed — fresh clams, nicely balanced garlic and olive oil, and perfectly cooked pasta with good texture. A classic Italian dish done right. The Parmigiana was flavorful but not heavy, with a good balance between the tomato sauce and melted mozzarella, finished with fresh basil. The white pizza (similar to focaccia) was included in the €2 coperto per person. It had a nice crispy exterior and soft interior, making it a great starter while waiting for the mains. Prices are reasonable for Italy, portions are satisfying, and the atmosphere feels like a relaxed, family-style restaurant. A solid choice if you’re looking for traditional Italian comfort food.
