pizzeria charlot

Praia a mare
22/07/2025: I would have given the service 5 stars if, throughout the entire dinner, the atmosphere of TENSION, ANXIETY, and STRESS that poor waiter was experiencing because of the owner hadn't been FULLY palpable. If he was tidying up glasses, he'd tell him to leave and do something else; if he was clearing the table, he'd interrupt him to do something else. He couldn't even stop by the table to give information about a pizza, or he'd call him back. I have to be honest and hope the gentleman reads this and takes action, both personally and personally, for the restaurant and the products they deserve! Really good pizza, though!
22/07/2025: Small outdoor restaurant with limited seating, but the pizza was excellent: excellent dough, left to rise for a long time (very digestible pizza), and excellent ingredients. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent service. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Pizzeria Road Runner

Praia a mare
14/08/2025: The pan pizza is excellent, crispy and very light, and the toppings are top-quality. I went because the reviews piqued my interest, and the experience confirmed what I'd read. I wasn't particularly fond of the fried foods, but that's a subjective thing and therefore, as far as I'm concerned, it can't be reviewed. The pizza is objectively top-notch. Congratulations.
07/08/2025: Great pizza, but bored service staff.

Amici's pizzeria

Praia a mare
01/09/2025: Right on the street can be a bit off-putting. That would be a mistake here. I was able to peek into the kitchen to see how the dishes were prepared with fresh ingredients. The pizza (Neapolitan) is wonderfully crispy, made with the finest ingredients. Don't be put off by the small menu! The chef will make anything you want, and the pasta is homemade.
20/08/2025: The photo shows the quality: we were too enraptured while eating to even consider the full plates. Delicious pizza with a wide selection of classics and creative combinations (the Orlando is especially recommended), and the squid pasta, made by reservation, is mind-blowing! Giuseppe and Carmela are kind and friendly, and the prices are more than fair.

Il Fornaio

Praia a mare
20/07/2025: We ate some pizzas 🍕😋 very good, nice place, excellent place in the center of Praia, rating 10/10
05/07/2025: Excellent pizza by the slice..... I go there often every year I am in Praia.. And always good. It's been more than 20 years now.... the pizza is always the same, same cooking... same crispiness.... flavor... top. In my opinion the best pizza by the slice in Praia.

Pizzeria Rinaldi

Praia a mare, <20€
06/09/2025: We took some pizzas, for both of them the cooking was right, the dough too, seasoned in a very exhaustive way, the cost is correct for the pizzas but a little less for some whim. Basically a good surprise. To return.
03/09/2025: We stopped for pizza. The service was friendly. The pizza was good, and the prices were fair. An average pizzeria worth considering in the area.

Hotel Villaggio La Mantinera Pizzeria

Praia a mare
09/08/2025: Let me start by saying that I'm not a resort expert (this is my second experience after a last-minute one three summers ago). I'll try to be as objective as possible, and I apologize in advance for the lackluster review. I booked 10 days (Sunday to Wednesday) full board for three (a couple with a child who just turned two), but usually we arrive and depart on Saturdays, and the welcome, with a couple of entertainers with juice and water, is reserved for "Sabatini" (Sabbath guests), as is the staff presentation show that same evening in the theater. The friendly staff at reception explain how to get around and get to your room (the resort is huge), and give you a map of the area. (They asked me if I'd prefer a guide, but finding the accommodation seemed simple enough, so I settled for following the map.) The overall impression was great, as the resort is surrounded by greenery and everything is well-maintained. There are various types of "houses" (the people I know who chose this option seemed satisfied, although the Deluxe rooms, although very nice from the outside, perhaps lack a bit in privacy). The restaurant staff is extremely kind and helpful (they answer any extra requests and, in any case, they do everything they can to accommodate guests). The bottle-feeding area is well-organized, clean, and bright, with delicious vegetable and tomato sauces and everything needed for baby food. Breakfast is plentiful, with cakes, juices, jams, hot chocolate, and croissants. There are coffee and cappuccino machines. For savory options, you'll have to settle for salami, ham, and cheese. The sea is a 10-minute walk away, or a 3-4 minute shuttle/train ride that runs nonstop between the village and the beach resort until 7:00 PM, with a lunch break from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The beach resort is in a valley, preceded by a huge, beautiful, and refreshing pine forest. The umbrellas are too close together, but this, on the one hand, makes it easier to make friends. The sea in front is beautiful, but not as stunning as I imagine it to be, but 100 meters away is Dino Island, which creates a cove with a (free) beach where the sea is spectacular. Overall, it's a beautiful place. The entertainment is modest, perhaps a little too much for adults, but good for children (if that's not a priority, that's not a problem). The swimming pool is useful, not very large, but well-maintained. The playground area is shaded by the trees. The sports fields (basketball, tennis, soccer) could be used much better with better entertainment. In the central square, there's a piano bar every evening (excellent in my opinion), followed immediately after by group dancing. In the theater, there's a baby dance followed by an entertainment show. I've read complaints about the car check-out time: sure, you can't enter or leave before 2 pm, but the resort is too big and there are too many cars to allow that, and honestly, I wouldn't have wanted the traffic and chaos outside my room (but then there are so many children playing and running around, and the risk of unpleasant incidents is too high). Besides, the little train takes you constantly to the beach, and in the evening, there's a shuttle service, on request, into town. If you "skip the line" for an excursion outside of these hours, the price is €3 for secure parking (it's not much, but they could offer the service for free), I imagine they follow the policy of making you stay inside. There are also shops, a central bar, and a market (I only left twice for a stroll around Praia; otherwise, I forgot I had a car). If you book early, I think you'll spend less than the $2,000 I spent last minute. But the place is worth it, and I recommend it. I'd happily go back!
06/08/2025: We stayed at this property the last week of July, with a 7-month-old baby and we had a great time, starting from the welcome at reception, the rooms were always nice and clean, the food was excellent, with a well-equipped and clean bottle-feeding room, the waiters were incredibly kind... especially the waiter Benito. The service that takes you to the beach is excellent with a cute little train, the swimming pool is well-kept but certainly very small, being a very large village that hosts many people in the pool in the afternoon it is full... The only flaw is the time for exiting the cars, which you can leave until 2.00 pm... otherwise you have to leave the car in an external car park (for a fee) if you want to go out in the evening, always belonging to the village, this is a flaw, this service should definitely be reviewed...
