13/10/2025: Everything was excellent. The place is small but welcoming, a meeting place and a cultural hub in the center of Naples. The vegetarian/vegan cuisine is tasty, and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.
03/10/2025: Experience at the end of September 2025, after reopening, when only vegan and vegetarian options were left on the menu, losing staples like the tagine.
Disappointing experience compared to the past: limited variety of dishes and often repetitive ingredients; disappointing sauce mix, especially the hummus, which tasted nothing like chickpeas; only the mtabbal was a good one; good falafel, but the rest of the fried foods were nothing special; main courses had little flavor and the ingredients were disjointed, including white basmati rice with two spices and a seasoning similar to Bariani (salty, dry, and bland), and the Sultan's Delight (a bland ciambotta).
In all the dishes, I didn't find that extra kick provided by the spices, cooking method, and combination of the various ingredients; nothing like past experiences.
The service was rushed and superficial. I understand the difficulty of a single waitress performing multiple tasks, but walking away while a customer is talking to you isn't nice at all. Furthermore, using the same gloves to serve, clear the table, wipe the tables, dry the silverware, collect the money, and finish plating isn't the best in terms of hygiene... you might as well not use them at all. The table management was also very rushed, to the point of almost disregarding the customer's time: allowing a table to enter while the person occupying it is still sitting finishing dessert is unprofessional at all.
All in all, a disappointment. I hope Omar takes over the reins of the restaurant and brings it back to its former glory, hoping to return and be pleasantly surprised, unlike this time.
P.S. I hope you don't sit at the table on the right as you enter: the door doesn't close, but simply ajar, guaranteeing chills and chills every time you enter or exit, especially if diners or staff don't close it all the way. And be careful of the steps at the entrance.
