This family-run restaurant has been around for decades and continues to uphold the same incredibly high standards of quality and care that date back to when the owner’s mother used to cook in the kitchen. When you imagine a true Italian trattoria—where everything is handmade, from the prosciutto and pasta to the sauces and desserts—this is exactly what comes to mind. There’s no cutting corners here. Every bite reflects a legacy of passion and tradition that’s increasingly rare to find. This restaurant also holds a deeply personal meaning for our family. My Nono used to walk over an hour from his house just to eat here, swearing they made the best tripe he’d ever had. This summer, we returned to Torrice for a family reunion and decided to honour his memory by making a reservation for 13 of us—grandparents, siblings, and grandkids included. It turned out to be one of the most memorable meals of our entire trip. The food was off-the-charts spectacular. From the handmade pasta to the generous antipasti, everything was bursting with flavour and clearly made with care. The wine flowed, the service was warm and attentive, and the desserts capped things off perfectly. We ordered so much food and loved it so much that we ended up staying far longer than planned—just so we could enjoy every last bite. The tripe was, of course, a standout. My parents both ordered it in tribute to Nono, and after just one taste, they completely understood why he used to walk so far to get it. They were so impressed, they each ordered seconds—not because they were still hungry, but because it was simply too good to pass up. Trattoria da Sestilio isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a living piece of culinary history, full of warmth, tradition, and soul. Whether you have roots in the area or are just passing through, this is one of those special places that leaves a lasting impression. We can’t wait to return.
20/07/2025: I went today with friends, and we had a great time! The place is a traditional trattoria, with fresh handmade pasta. The Sunday cannelloni were delicious! The sour cherry tart was out of this world. They offer—and be warned, offer—bruschetta as an appetizer and sweet treats at the end. The owner welcomed us into his home (literally, back in the day, it's a great story, ask him!), and the staff were kind and friendly, and the service was fast. The price was fair and reasonable (generous portions!) I had a starter, a main course, red and white wine, dessert, coffee, liqueur, water, and cover charge—all for €30. In Rome, I would have paid €50 and eaten less. We'll gladly return!

The staff was courteous and attentive to the guests' needs (especially the extremely helpful owner). The menu featured fish 🐟, cooked to perfection... high-quality, extremely fresh ingredients, and generous portions...
10/07/2025: A refined place where the dishes are prepared with meticulous attention to detail. The ideal location for pleasant lunches and dinners.

06/07/2025: Pranzo domenicale allietato da ottime pietanze di pesce freschissimo, la professionalità del personale e la spumeggiante simpatia del proprietario Lello. Le foto non ci sono perché abbiamo divorato tutto prima di farle! Esperienza da ripetere a breve e consigliata a chi non lo conosce
05/07/2025: Un ristorante che si pubblicizza per il top e poi si perde nelle cose più basilari è il colmo. I risotti con il riso cotto, anzi scotto, e poi condito con il preparato... I gamberoni e scampi nelle grigliate dove non viene tagliato il carapace per aiutare il cliente a pulire con forchetta e coltello e soprattutto non togliere il budellino dove lo fanno anche nel 3° mondo questo è stato proprio il colmo. Non voglio parlare delle altre cose ma solo una cosa vi consiglio di andare a mangiare e sono i fritti del Cuoppo unica cosa che si salva!!!!!
