Zimino In Genova

No frills tasty food for a fair price with good service in a beautiful location. I couldn’t decide on a dish and the man behind the counter let me taste a few first. Clearly some locals/regulars eating there as well. As a tourist it’s exactly the type of place you want to find amongst a sea of overpriced mediocre restaurants!

Average lasagna, delicious beef, and rubbery calamari. Small portions and self-service, with the waiter only bringing drinks.

Zimino is a must-see for anyone passing through Genoa. It offers a few excellently prepared dishes. We tried pesto lasagna, fried shrimp and calamari, and fried anchovies. Everything was delicious. The fried food was dry, well-salted, and crispy. They don't take reservations, but we had no trouble finding a table. You eat in the square in front of Zimino, and I think this makes the experience even more authentic. The staff is very entertaining; they prepare orders while interacting with waiting customers, which, in my opinion, made the wait less boring. When we got to the table, we dropped a plate of anchovies. We asked them to make another, but they immediately prepared it for us and didn't even ask for a refund. I'll definitely be back.

The best place to have lunch in Genoa.

We stopped there for a drink. We stayed the evening. Very good atmosphere. Fast service. They are VERY generous: free antipasti (toast, fries, and fried onions) with drinks. Fabulous. We also had Trofie al pesto, not the best but really nice. Truly an experience to be had. Be careful, we went back two other evenings and it was closed. The opening hours are a bit vague.

Great atmosphere - if you ask what the chef likes, he'll simply offer you something; if you ask what he recommends, he'll choose a dish, offer it to you, and you have no choice but to order it because it's good. Delicious and cheap 😋

A place serving typical homemade Genoese food. Takeaway or dine-in, either inside or on the terrace. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious. Reasonably priced. The place is very pleasant.
