Ying Feng In Viterbo

The best Chinese/Japanese restaurant in Viterbo in my opinion. No "eat till you die" formulas but food prepared with care and tradition. Recommended for those who love to eat well.

At the gates of Viterbo we discovered this Chinese restaurant. Having just moved to live in the area, coming from a completely different part of the peninsula, we were looking for a Chinese place and I must say that Ling, the owner, really won us over. 1. She is proud of her origins (and God forbid... The Chinese were an advanced civilization when we didn't even know how to be in the world) 2. But despite this she has a willingness, a friendliness that the Chinese often don't bestow easily 3. The food is excellent and above all tastes fresh, when Chinese cuisine in Italy often betrays precisely this aspect. 4. Menu full of dishes both traditional and refined, as well as more commercial and better known to us Europeans... 5. Its tiramisu is also excellent. Honest prices, excellent service (his son Kevin, young and shy but punctual and professional, serves in the dining room) Ling deserves 5 stars. And goodbye!

The boss is very nice. The environment is also very comfortable. The Chinese food is quite authentic.

Martedì sera, con due amici, abbiamo cenato al Ristorante Cinese Ying Feng a Viterbo, in Via della Palazzina 83/85. Il locale è spazioso e dispone di un comodo parcheggio nelle vicinanze. Abbiamo iniziato con involtini primavera caldi e croccanti, seguiti da un delizioso ramen e piatti a base di tofu e funghi, tutti preparati con cura. La signora Lin, proprietaria del ristorante, è stata molto gentile nel consigliarci e spiegarci le caratteristiche della cucina cinese. Il servizio è stato rapido e cortese, contribuendo a rendere la serata piacevole. Consigliamo vivamente il Ristorante Ying Feng per un’autentica esperienza culinaria cinese a Viterbo.

Really excellent food, very friendly staff, a pleasant surprise

On Tuesday evening, two friends and I had dinner at Ristorante Cinese Ying Feng in Viterbo, at Via della Palazzina 83/85. The restaurant is spacious and has convenient parking nearby. We started with warm and crispy spring rolls, followed by delicious ramen and tofu and mushroom dishes, all carefully prepared. Mrs. Lin, the owner of the restaurant, was very kind in advising us and explaining the characteristics of Chinese cuisine. The service was quick and courteous, helping to make the evening enjoyable. We highly recommend Ristorante Ying Feng for an authentic Chinese culinary experience in Viterbo.

Otto anni fa venni qui con la mia trequarti cinese ma non ci aveva convinto. Poi l'anno scorso ci abbiamo riprovato e il nuovo chef e la nuova organizzazione si sentono tutte: la qualità ha fatto un enorme balzo in avanti. Il menù è vastissimo ma a me la parte che piace di più è quella dedicata ai piatti tipici, che spesso consentono di scoprire nuovi sapori anche a chi come me di cucina cinese ne ha davvero assaggiata molta. Oggi e per qualche giorno quella parte di menù non è disponibile, lo stanno aggiornando per l'arrivo dell'estate. C'è anche una coda dedicata al sushi, qualche pezzo durante una cena cinese è un'occasione tanto è delizioso. Oggi son da solo sto mangiando dei ravioli Xiao Mai che si confermano eccezionali, soprattutto se li tagliate in due prima di infilarli in bocca, in questo modo esce l'acqua che si forma durante la cottura e i sapori risaltano. Mi sono arrivati poi dei noodles saltati con verdure e manzo, molto tradizionali e molto buoni. Avevo poi voglia di verdure e ho chiesto un'insalata di verdure al vapore, che sto divorando insieme ad un ottimo semplice pollo bambù e funghi. Se a tutto questo si aggiunge la simpatia della proprietaria e della cameriera, la musica cinese di sottofondo e dei begli arredi rossi, beh! Complimenti ai gestori, sono senza dubbio il punto di riferimento per la cucina cinese in tutto l'alto Lazio.
