Perfect Japanese inn.
The food is excellent, as is the attention to detail.
The interior is very comfortable.
It would deserve 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that most of the dishes are served in disposable containers, which doesn't match the interior design and location of the restaurant.
The use of such containers for the self-service outdoor seating is understandable.
Serving tea in ordinary water glasses isn't the best either: the result is a boiling glass that's impossible to drink.
[Update] After the restaurant's response (because that's the name it deserves), I've decided to change my rating from 4 to 5 stars. The restaurant owner's observations are correct, and it's right to change the review.

There were four of us and we had to make a reservation because the place is very small inside, but that's part of the atmosphere. Inside, it's calm and serene, the service is good, and the staff is friendly. You can also buy Japanese snacks and drinks from various anime/manga brands. The food was incredibly good; I loved everything I ordered. It's an à la carte Japanese restaurant, so the products are high-quality, and you can easily spend over €20. I ordered ramen and shared takoyaki, chicken meatballs, and ravioli with two others. I also ordered an onigiri on the side, and they ordered a dorayaki afterward. With water and a cover charge, we paid €22 each, so a relatively low price for the food we ordered. I repeat, everything was delicious. I recommend going if you love Japanese food. Parking is difficult because the area is very busy, especially on weekends and in the evenings.

I had lunch today at Yatai Mad, and I was thrilled!
The place has a real Yatai feel, with excellent food and friendly, genuine service! We'll definitely be back (to try everything on the menu 🤣).
Highly recommended.

I tried calling three times starting at 6:30 PM, but got no answer. Determined to try this experience in Livorno, I got in the car and set off.
When I arrived, I was greeted by the girl at the cash register, who began with...You?
I explain that I tried to make a reservation but no one answered. She tells me I didn't call... and only after a few unpleasant verbal exchanges does she inform me that she hasn't seen the calls (3 of them! Plus, they do takeout. I'd like to understand why, since they don't answer the phone!!!)
No, the place is tiny inside, and I'm told that dinner isn't possible tonight. I didn't want to go home empty-handed, so I ask, seeing some tables outside, if it's possible to dine outside...
The girl agrees and sets up two tables outside under an umbrella...
No table service. My companions and I get the tableware and sit outside...
The four of us order several dishes from their menu, but some aren't available even though they're on the menu...
We have dinner. Excellent preparations that demonstrate excellent cooking technique. Finally, while waiting for the desserts that hadn't arrived, I get up to get information, but the girl at the cash register tells me she doesn't have any desserts and hadn't put them in my bag. The bill...🤔🤔😳😳😳!!!
But without telling me when I ordered...
So I order what's left of the dessert...obviously quite disappointed and annoyed by the omission. Without information....
Also, last but not least, I left the bill for myself...
First receipt: €101, and she also wanted €1....🤣🤣🤣After the various behavioral errors and the poor sales skills of the girl at the cash register, I pay back €12 for some packaged sweets...
In conclusion....if you can talk to her over the phone, order takeout, at least you won't have to add the girl at the cash register at YATAI MAD LIVORNO to your list of unpleasant and negligent people.
