Wolf In Bologna

We had dinner for several days during a holiday, excellent food and friendly and helpful staff. I recommend visiting it

Reviewing a place, which I would define as mythological rather than historical, is always difficult. Our parents frequented it more than forty years ago, it was the sandwich bar pub in the eighties, it survived the millennials and is still one of the most popular places in the city today, despite its not very central location. However, what seems to be missing at Wolf is a well-defined identity, which is reflected in the extremely heterogeneous clientele: you can find everything from groups of high school age kids to university students, from specialists from the nearby Polyclinic to work aperitifs, from couples on their first outing to the grandparents who saw Wolf born. And perhaps this is precisely the secret of its longevity. The environment also reflects this vocation for inclusiveness: the more classic style interior with the beautiful wooden counter, a more modern part with the stage for live music and the external veranda which acts as a smoking room. The gastronomic offer is extremely varied, from the Emilian platter with crescentine and tigelle, to pizzas with the most disparate variations of dough, to classic fast food. The quality is not excellent, I would say medium-low even for a place of this category. The choice of draft beers is decent, even if a little limited (my favorite, the Irish red ale). The staff is young. The relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, perhaps the real strong point of the place. Of course, if you expect the classic Irish pub or high quality raw materials, you will be disappointed. But if you are looking for a pleasant and undemanding evening, you know that the Wolf is always there waiting for you. Certainty.

I still don't understand cover prices or beers at golden prices. A normal pub on the outskirts of the city.

Il posto è un must della storia dei pub bolognesi ma, come in tanti posti negli ultimi anni, i prezzi sono esageratamente aumentati. Posto comunque piacevole.
