It is not difficult to leave an opinion on the quality of this place. Not many words are needed to describe its quality beyond the beauty of the place and where it is located. There is no dish, regardless of the simplicity of its ingredients, that does not come out enhanced by Matteo's cuisine. The butter, the bread, the veal both tuna-based and grilled, the cheeses, the cured meats, the giardiniera! Those ready to eat must still be chosen at the source and those treated by the kitchen come out embellished and noble. Just as wood can be an architrave that supports the most incredible architecture or art in itself sculpted by the artist, a choice is a must a priori from who builds or sculpts, a skill must exist that determines the quality of the artifact and therefore, do not be surprised. Architraves come out of Matteo's kitchen that support what you consider good or will embellish what you already know to be good. And if you do not know it, you will learn it.

You can get there on foot or with snowshoes. The place inside is very beautiful and also has a large outdoor area. We tasted some of their truly delicious dishes. Very friendly staff and a Walser Spritz different from the others. Congratulations to whoever manages it.

A little place to be amazed by? Yes Riale Val Formazza, a small nativity scene and in winter with the snow it becomes a true poem.
Walser Schtuba, you can't help but stop by, a place where you can eat outside, in summer and in winter when it's sunny, inside there are a few but well-placed tables, refined but full of flavour.
We eat refined things but always with references to tradition.
Many dishes are inspired by Walser cuisine, a people of Germanic origin who descended into our valleys around 1300. Matteo Sormani, the chef, expertly knows how to blend tradition with innovation in an excellent way.
Starters, first courses, second courses and desserts, you will be spoiled for choice.
It is definitely worth stopping for a refreshment break after a nice walk.

We went to the Walser Schtuba for lunch and didn't stay overnight. We ate very well, typical Ossola food revisited by chef Matteo Sormani, really good. Care in the choice of raw materials, perfect cooking, impeccable service. We had also booked the panettone which we ate as a family...exquisite, perfectly leavened, with high quality raw materials and absolutely well dosed. We will definitely be back.
