Walser Schtuba In Formazza

It is not difficult to leave an opinion on the quality of this place. It does not take many words to describe the quality beyond the beauty of the place and where it is located. There is no dish regardless of the simplicity of its ingredients that does not come out enhanced by Matteo's cuisine. The butter, the bread, the veal both tuna and grilled, the cheeses, the cured meats, the giardiniera! Those ready to eat are still chosen at the source and those treated by the kitchen come out embellished and noble. As wood can be an architrave that supports the most incredible architecture or art in itself sculpted by the artist, a choice on the quality of the material is a must on the part of those who build or sculpt, a skill must exist to determine the quality of the artifact. So, do not be surprised. Architraves come out of Matteo's kitchen that support what you consider good or will embellish what you already know to be good. And if you do not know it, you will learn it.

If we could vote with ten stars, we would give it 100! Very nice rooms, exceptional cleanliness, divine dinners and breakfasts! And what about Francesca, Matteo, Ramona and all the other collaborators? Go and meet them in person and you will see…. For us, the stay is always top! Claudia and Paolo

We had lunch at the restaurant, so we can't rate the rooms. Few dishes but all excellent with fresh ingredients at zero km of the local Walser tradition. Fantastic location stone tables outside under umbrellas in a unique setting.

Beautiful restaurant in an ancient well-kept village, in the Formazza Valley, where many paths start that lead to the lakes and the Swiss border. I tried the restaurant with a nice varied menu, including braised meat in Nebbiolo with polenta and cabbage salad and finally creme brulé with apricot sorbet, everything excellent and friendly staff.

We slept one night in this very beautiful hotel surrounded by nature, small but very welcoming room with a stunning view of the valley, dinner was also a great experience with dishes never tried, very kind staff and waitresses. 5 stars deserved.

Super location and super menu. Typical but refined food, especially in the preparation, I would say low temperature cooking (I took the tuna sauce), fine, very light. My husband took the ravioli, and this dish was also sublime. We drank water because being on a motorbike it is better to avoid alcohol, but, at the table next to us we saw a Coppo Altalanga...😍🔝🔝

Located in the heart of the beautiful Val Formazza, this restaurant offers delicious and well-prepared dishes, one better than the other. The service of the housekeepers is very friendly and attentive to satisfying your every request. In short, a very clean little mountain gem, where the cuisine is truly a plus!!

Abbiamo soggiornato un lungo w.e. In questo piccolo paradiso, dove regna tranquillità e pace. Il soggiorno è stato molto gradevole con ottima esperienza culinaria di alta qualità, dolci compresi, specialmente il panettone. Il tutto con giusto rapporto qualità/prezzo. Ritorneremo senz’altro.
