I stop with customers every time I go on a mountain bike tour.
Availability, friendliness, and quality are some of the strengths of this welcoming restaurant.
Furthermore, last time, we needed to charge the batteries of a couple of e-bikes, and the kind staff member immediately found us a plug to plug in.

In the enchanting heart of Riale, at 1,700 meters above sea level, I had a culinary experience worth sharing. The Walser Schtuba restaurant is a rare gem, where haute cuisine meets a breathtaking location, surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Formazza Valley. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and refined atmosphere, a foretaste of the extraordinary quality of the dishes. The spinach gnocchi were simply divine: soft, flavorful, with a perfect balance of delicacy and intensity. The vitello tonnato, meanwhile, exceeded all expectations: tender, refined, with a velvety sauce that enhanced every bite. Every detail, from the impeccable service to the presentation of the dishes, reflects a genuine passion for cuisine and hospitality. I highly recommend Walser Schtuba to anyone seeking a classy gastronomic experience immersed in the pristine beauty of the Alps. A place where taste meets emotion.

We only ate at the restaurant for both lunch and dinner. Revisited traditional dishes and more. Well cooked and presented, very good. At lunch, the selection is more limited than on the evening menu. The potato soup, which is actually a creamy soup, wasn't satisfying; the stuffed guinea fowl was excellent; the pasta rustia was excellent; the traditional potato pie was good. The leavened cake is a sort of panettone, good. The wait times are long/very long, but the positive thing is that everything is homemade and most of the dishes are made fresh.

It's not difficult to rate the quality of this place. Words don't need much to describe its quality, beyond the beauty of the place and its location. There's no dish, no matter how simple its ingredients, that isn't enhanced by Matteo's cooking. The butter, the bread, the veal, both with tuna sauce and grilled, the cheeses, the cured meats, the giardiniera! The ready-to-eat ingredients are always selected at the source, and those prepared by the kitchen emerge refined and noble.
Just as wood can be the architrave supporting the most incredible architecture or a work of art in itself sculpted by the artist, a careful choice of material quality is mandatory for those who build or carve; expertise is essential to determine the quality of the product. So, don't be surprised. Architraves emerge from Matteo's kitchen that support what you consider good or will embellish what you already know to be good. And if you don't know it, you'll learn it.

We had lunch at the restaurant, so we can't rate the rooms. Few dishes but all excellent with fresh ingredients at zero km of the local Walser tradition. Fantastic location stone tables outside under umbrellas in a unique setting.
