In the Lucca Comics casino, my partner and I were looking for a place that was welcoming, intimate and informal at the same time. Osteria Vispateresa was all three things together, with the addition of excellent traditional Lucca cuisine and lots of hospitality. The friendliness both in the welcome and during the service was much appreciated; the fact that there were several people waiting outside the restaurant did not affect the courtesy and attention towards us. This definitely made us feel very comfortable. Even better, then, is the quality of the dishes. Starter of Tuscan cured meats and cheeses followed by traditional Lucca first courses: tordelli with ragù and pappardelle with wild boar ragù. All very good, especially accompanied by two glasses of Sangiovese di Toscana. Absolutely, an experience to try if you happen to be in the historic center of Lucca

Nel casino del Lucca Comics, io e la mia compagna cercavamo un posto che fosse accogliente, intimo e informale allo stesso tempo. L'Osteria Vispateresa è stato tutte e tre le cose assieme, con l'aggiunta di un'ottima cucina tradizionale lucchese e di tanta ospitalità. Molto apprezzata la cordialità sia nell'accoglienza che durante il servizio; il fatto che ci fossero parecchie persone in attesa fuori dal locale non ha inficiato le cortesia e l'attenzione verso di noi. Questo ci ha sicuramente fatto sentire molto a nostro agio. Ancora meglio, poi, la qualità dei piatti. Antipasto di salumi toscani e formaggi e a seguire i primi piatti della tradizione lucchese: tordelli al ragù e pappardelle al ragù di cinghiale. Now every time I see the words "Trattoria" or "Osteria", I immediately start the challenge against myself to understand whether it is good or not. This time they outdid themselves, honestly I thought it was a little worse than what it ended up being! The food was exquisite: platter, ham and mozzarella, gnocchi with pesto, pappardelle with wild boar, two cuts and a dessert... excellent dinner. The place is just the way I like them: rustic, informal and with friendly, approachable people who work there. They don't take reservations, so be careful!

Nice little place in Via Santa Croce. Meat (fillet) really tender and well served with the porcini mushroom cap. Sautéed mushrooms are also excellent.

Typical trattoria within the walls of Lucca, a warm and comfortable place that I often frequent alone or with my wife. Traditional Tuscan dishes cooked with care, generous portions and reasonable prices. Excellent first courses from Lucca tordelli to tagliatelle with truffle, up to a spectacular spaghetti with fresh tomato which has nothing to envy of that consumed in Naples. Excellent cuts, tripe, chicken al brick and finally the delicious homemade desserts. Overall, a place that deserves to be frequented several times for its constant quality.
