I booked a central table over the phone because a historic figure was coming to sing, for dinner, and after dinner. We chose after dinner, when the show was starting! We charged the money by credit card and received a confirmation email with the times—clearly 11:00 PM/11:30 PM—the number of people, and all the information. We showed up at 11:10 PM. The very kind bouncers called us a clean-shaven man who first said there was no table, then said it was too early anyway, and we should have left after 12:30 AM, and ran off. The bouncers very kindly called him back, and at the same time the girl I had spoken to and made the reservation also came over, I think the manager. She apologized, said the table wasn't ready yet, and they'd even gotten the name wrong, but she seated us at the beautiful fireplace bar of the former Hotel Europa, now Hotel Eight! We ordered a drink, and shortly thereafter they called us to say the table was ready, and we began the evening, which would last until closing time. I've been coming to Cortina and VIP for decades. I'd like to compliment all the staff—the bouncers, manager, bartender, coat check, waitresses, and waiters, as well as the musicians and singers—who made it possible to recover from a very awkward, disorganized, and inadequate start, given the location, clientele, and price!

Despite our late arrival for our dinner reservation, manager Melania, with kindness and courtesy, still managed to get us dinner, despite the imminent closure of the kitchen. The after-dinner reception was splendid and fantastic as always, in the evocative atmosphere that only a VIP can offer, between the piano bar and the subsequent DJ set. The evening was going great, but then... she smiled. But that's another story...

A unique experience to return to

Excellent service and location, perfect for a fun evening with friends! Among the staff, I can't help but mention Melinna, a professional, always attentive to the guests' needs and, by the way, very nice to our friend who was celebrating his 40th birthday! Although, in my opinion, the prettiest person in the place wasn't an employee, but a blonde guest, wearing black combat boots and a ponytail, who inexplicably kept a low profile! But that's another story...

I had dinner last night and the service was impeccable. I'd already had lunch at the Bistrot, which was excellent, with professional and welcoming staff. Yesterday, on Melinna's recommendation, we had dinner and then went to the VIP restaurant. It was a fantastic evening! We'll be back soon!
