Villa Chiara In Bacoli

We were at a baptism. A bit chaotic environment because several parties were in the same room. Fast and helpful service. The food was quite disappointing, everything was too oily and some products seemed frozen, it felt like being in a canteen.

EVERYTHING PERFECT!!! I don't leave reviews unless I'm overwhelmed positively or negatively!! Memorable evening, my wife and I are in Bacoli for a short holiday, it's Sunday evening, by chance we find a place in this family-run restaurant (which we had the pleasure of knowing). GINO, the waitress, welcomes us (I write it in large because it was impeccable), who immediately seats us and brings us some water then leaves with his suggestions but we stop him immediately because we have specific cravings, 2 octopus salads, 2 spaghetti with sea urchins (very good). Gino recommends a good falanghina, despite the gluttony of the very fresh octopus filling us up! I ask for an encore but on the grill and a salad for my conscience (super top), my wife a plate of broccoli and we finish with a very soft babbà!! I know you don't believe it but the bill didn't reach €100, they offered us bitters (but we passed) and they gave us a discount!!! We truly thank everyone! From those who cook for the preparation and presentation of the dishes to the family who gave us advice and contacts for staying at the top and the impeccable Gino!!

I hadn't been there in years, I think at least 10 years, everything has changed, now I don't know if the ownership too but I don't think so. Let's start with the environment, I gave 3 stars because something more could have been done, there's a little something missing to make it innovative, as far as the service is concerned I gave 4 stars, 1 person for 1 room unfortunately half empty, I was sorry because years ago it was always full, I also gave 4 stars because more information should be given on the dishes served, so as not to go on too long. I gave 3 stars to the food, because the starters have nothing to do with the ones I remembered, both in quantity and variety of dishes served in the starter... While for the first courses they are the ones that I must say earned 1 star more. Grandma Flora's choice of desserts is excellent I would say. In context, the average is 3 stars out of 5. My advice for starter sauces is to balance the saltiness well since a pinch more wouldn't have hurt, unfortunately the cod had a wet and soft breading. and at least try to return to the old appetizers also presenting them in a modern way.
