A very unique place with interesting and tasty options, but charging €2 for a placemat-filled pub meal and €4 for a Coke probably doesn't help. A shame. Only for those who don't mind the expense.

I LOVE MY CREAM PUFFS
Surrounded by the silence, I manage to sit down at the computer. My goal is to write this post in one sitting; I might be able to do it because, with no one else around, I can move along like a train. Furthermore, the need to please those who have been waiting for this recipe for days is the driving force.
I'll start by saying that I've been hoping for a while to talk to you about one of the cornerstones of pastry making: CHOUX PASTRY or CREAM PUFF PASTRY.
The main function of this PUFF PASTRY is to hold the filling; with its fairly pronounced cavity, anything made with it is suitable for filling with sweet or savory creams.
Some texts refer to cream puff pastry with its corresponding French term, chou pastry. Chou literally means cabbage, because the products obtained with this preparation, once cooked, most resemble Brussels sprouts.
The same pastry is also used to make éclairs, which differ in their elongated shape and glaze. Basically, instead of round shapes (which make classic cream puffs), on a baking sheet (which I always use the perforated one), you shape strips of pastry about 8 cm long and 1 cm wide. After baking, they're filled with flavored custard and topped with a glaze that matches the filling.
Like cream puffs, éclairs can also contain savory fillings. Obviously, my preference always leans toward sweet, but it would be a great challenge to make savory ones, to brighten up aperitifs or special events...I promise.
In any case, this CHOUX PASTRY remains the basic recipe for anything that needs to be "contained"...sweet or savory, it doesn't matter.

Tripped over this place by accident avoiding McDonald’s.
Brilliant and interesting as discovered that Lacuna Coil or a member of the famous metal band owns the restaurant. Staff are lovely and friendly and served us even though just about to close. Steak was superb.
