Uwald Alm In Valle di casies

We enjoyed delicious dumplings and apple fritters. A beautiful view of the valley, friendly service, and one of the few alpine farms still open in mid-October. Lucky for us!

The Uwaldalm is an absolute highlight in the Gsies Valley! Stunning views, super cozy, incredibly delicious food, and genuine South Tyrolean hospitality. A place to enjoy, marvel, and feel good – simply a must-have when traveling here! 👌🌄🍻

This isn't the first time we've come to this mountain hut, where we've had good meals on previous occasions. This time, my review isn't quite up to par with previous visits. The trio of dumplings is dry and doesn't taste like typical local cuisine. It's almost like a tourist-friendly dish. Prices have risen, and by quite a bit, but they could be justified if the quality were high. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time. The receipt practically speaks for itself.

There is the best view of the Casies Valley

Everything was excellent as usual! Gorgeous location, excellent food, good service, and fair prices.

Reached after starting from the beginning of the valley trail (on the right when facing the Magdalenahof Hotel). The signs lead to a fork for the Uwald Alm or the Pfoi Alm mountain refuge (no food or drinks), which take the same amount of time to reach. I would recommend going to the Pfoi Alm (beautiful views and setting) and just before that, taking the path through the woods that leads to the Uwald Alm. This avoids the constant, steep climb. The mountain hut is truly charming; the food is good, the service is fast, the staff friendly, and the view is wonderful. The Kaiserschmarren is fabulous!

Good food, but not exactly cheap. Nice path to the alpine pasture with great views of the valley.
