Tradition, hospitality and authenticity: the excellence of "U Pittusu"

Last night I lived an unforgettable experience together with Ale, Miriana, Clara, Antonino, Veronica and Vincenzo at "U Pittusu", a traditional Sicilian restaurant recommended by our dear friends Fedela and Mario.
A place that knows how to combine the truth of Sicilian cuisine with a warm and sincere welcome. The environment, heated by the live fire of a wood-burning fireplace, welcomed us in a family atmosphere, where each dish tells an authentic story.
The Fixed Menu of December 14th, Saturday, which surprised and delighted us:
- Bruschetta and aperitif
- Tasting of Rianata and mushrooms.
Abundant and flavorful starters:
- Parmesan
- Broad beans with mint
- Roasted peppers (“ammunniscati”)
- Tripe
- Meatloaf with sauce
- Accupatello broccoli
- Omelettes
- Dried tomato.
Extraordinary first courses:
- Meat ravioli with bacon and pistachio, served with pistachio cream and chopped pistachios
- Fettuccine with mixed mushrooms, fennel and bacon.
Traditional second courses:
- Hare with mushrooms and capers
- Rabbit with cherry tomatoes and olives
- sliced beef.
Authentic desserts that end on a high note:
- Crumbled quinces
- Cassatelle with sheep's ricotta.
All accompanied by wine, water and coffee served with generosity and care.
"U Pittusu" is easily accessible, located in Via Vincenzo Fazio, 48, 91016 Ballata TP. The Fulgatore motorway exit leads comfortably to this jewel of Sicilian gastronomy, with a perfectly asphalted road and ample parking.
The cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms, the impeccable welcome of the waiters and owners, and the abundance of each course make this place an example of absolute excellence. Here the cuisine doesn't need big words, but tells the story of tradition through authentic flavours, quality and abundance.

Highly recommended, it is worth traveling these kilometers on purpose to spend a quiet evening enjoying good food

Un luogo nascosto da scoprire per cibo, atmosfera, cordialità. È come entrare in un pezzo di Sicilia raccontata in alcuni libri e poi trovarsi in un luogo molto da "focolare" dove ritrovare sapori dimenticati che riportano a tempi che non esistono più. Cibo di ottima qualità. Noi siamo andati per la "serata della pecora bollita" e davvero nulla da eccepire, cottura perfetta, tradizionale spaghettino spezzato perfettamente al dente cotto nel brodo leggero e saporito ma non grasso. Sinceramente trovo esagerati tutti gli antipasti serviti prima: in previsione del piatto protagonista della serata non si poteva assaggiare tutto ciò che lo precedeva.
