This restaurant also holds a deeply personal meaning for our family. My Nono used to walk over an hour from his house just to eat here, swearing they made the best tripe he’d ever had. This summer, we returned to Torrice for a family reunion and decided to honour his memory by making a reservation for 13 of us—grandparents, siblings, and grandkids included.
It turned out to be one of the most memorable meals of our entire trip.
The food was off-the-charts spectacular. From the handmade pasta to the generous antipasti, everything was bursting with flavour and clearly made with care. The wine flowed, the service was warm and attentive, and the desserts capped things off perfectly. We ordered so much food and loved it so much that we ended up staying far longer than planned—just so we could enjoy every last bite.
The tripe was, of course, a standout. My parents both ordered it in tribute to Nono, and after just one taste, they completely understood why he used to walk so far to get it. They were so impressed, they each ordered seconds—not because they were still hungry, but because it was simply too good to pass up.
Trattoria da Sestilio isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a living piece of culinary history, full of warmth, tradition, and soul. Whether you have roots in the area or are just passing through, this is one of those special places that leaves a lasting impression.

I went today with friends, and we had a great time! The place is a traditional trattoria, with fresh handmade pasta. The Sunday cannelloni were delicious! The sour cherry tart was out of this world. They offer—and be warned, offer—bruschetta as an appetizer and sweet treats at the end. The owner welcomed us into his home (literally, back in the day, it's a great story, ask him!), and the staff were kind and friendly, and the service was fast. The price was fair and reasonable (generous portions!) I had a starter, a main course, red and white wine, dessert, coffee, liqueur, water, and cover charge—all for €30. In Rome, I would have paid €50 and eaten less. We'll gladly return!

We had lunch at Trattoria da Sestilio. The atmosphere was homely and welcoming. For the first course, we ate a portion of homemade pasta "fini fini" with meat sauce that was served in two terrines, really excellent and the two half portions were also abundant. For the second course, we took advice from the owner and had chicken with peppers, also delicious, with a side of chicory and excellent house wine. The prices were good. It is a trattoria where I would gladly return for the atmosphere, the friendliness and the dishes.

Where to eat the typical dishes of the Ciociaria tradition? Here at Sestilio, gnocchi, pasta and beans, cannelloni, all rigorously handmade pasta, which you can admire as soon as you enter on your left.
And the meat-based second courses: the top is definitely the tripe and the abbuticchi, a unique specialty.

Good trattoria with reasonable prices. The cannelloni are huge, the meat sauce is good. The portions of the gnocchi and the fini fini with mushrooms are medium. The place remains a little hidden. Friendly staff who also offered us a bruschetta each

Scrivo questa recensione da una panchina di fronte al locale, dove mi sto godendo un piacevole panorama ristorante prima di ripartire.
Il cibo appena mangiato era ottimo, gustoso, ogni pietanza era saporita ma allo stesso tempo non pesante, si sentiva che era tutto genuino. Il proprietario ci ha fatto sentire a casa con la sua grande cordialità.
Prezzi modici e locale accogliente. Quando torneremo in zona passeremo sicuramente da qui.
