Trattoria Vecchio Mercato In Cremona

I returned after many years, and perhaps there's new management. The dishes were a bit disappointing, lacking the flavor of the past. It's a shame, it was a historic restaurant for Cremona.

Business lunch with veal with tuna sauce, really done as it should be... kind and friendly staff... I will definitely go back for lunch or dinner... recommended

A satisfying lunch on the fly. On Sunday we stopped for lunch at this place. A menu proposed by word of mouth with a limited choice of typical and home-made dishes. Really satisfied both in quantity and quality. Excellent trio of tortelli and a veal with tuna sauce to remember! Try it because it is highly recommended!

Perfect set menu, with a choice of three first courses, three second courses, and side dishes. Everything tastes just like home.

A wonderful place, a leap in time, you can now count on the fingers of one hand the places that preserve this ancient charm. Every time I go I can't stop congratulating the very kind lady who runs it because, while keeping it very well-kept, she preferred to keep the place with its twentieth-century features, avoiding crude, pseudo-modern renovations that do not respect so much beauty of other times. The cuisine is up to the place, which says it all. Traditional Cremonese cuisine with also a wide choice for vegetarians (spectacular spinach omelette!). We were passing through Cremona and we opted for lunch (on a Saturday) at Trattoria Granatieri to eat something substantial and "good" as trattorias usually know how to do. The food itself was good, but the real blow came with the bill. Before ordering we were told that the prices displayed outside were weekly work menus and ok, I can understand that. The choice of dishes was more limited and that's fine, I imagine there is less flow of people on the weekend. But spending 48 euros for 2 starters, a first course and a second course (not so abundant because we were still hungry) and a liter of water I can say is not what I expected. Sin!

After years I returned to this historic place in Cremona... A little has changed but more than 20 years have passed... 😊.. When we entered the homely atmosphere immediately made us feel at ease... They welcomed us with great kindness and professionalism.... There were four of us and we skipped the starters... But we couldn't resist the super good meatballs!! I haven't eaten such good ones in a long time... Then we have. I took four first courses.. Two tortelli and two tagliatelle with meat sauce... Very good.. A salamella for the second course. At the. Plate, a veal with tuna sauce and two boiled meats.... Finally a trattoria where they put chicken in the boiled meats.... All very good... Then we had a dessert, 3 coffees and two bitters... I forgot to drink 1 liter of biancone, two half reds and a bottle of water... total €35 per person... and I would say that it is a more than honest price... good raw materials... I forgot a compliment to the girl who serves, very professional for the service and preparation of the dishes dishes..... Here you are! For people who are used to nouvelle cuisine... Avoid unnecessary comments because our cuisine is not for you! I will definitely return... And if you pass through Cremona stop..... Thanks to all the Staff ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Trattoria Granatieri is an old-fashioned place...homely and informal. We came across it on a Sunday, where we ate what was already prepared for a group....the whole menu that had tempted us was not possible to have. Two first courses.....two second courses, only one side dish.....a litre of house wine.....a coffee and a bitter.....bill 60 euros......in short not a little.....also because the menu was told to us verbally.....without knowing the price for each dish......fast and kind service. But we were left with a bitter taste in our mouths for not having eaten what we wanted from the dishes displayed on the advertised menu......shame!!!!

Very welcoming historic trattoria, excellent quality typical food and friendly, knowledgeable staff. We will definitely be back.
